Hello!

Today I want to show you a custom of my OC Septima Windsong which I made about two years ago. At first I wanted to order her from one of local custom makers, but then decided to do it on my own. I tried making customs when I was little, so technically it's not my first one, but certainly the first one that turned out exactly how I imagined!

And I also didn't forget to take WIP photos :) All the pictures are under spoilers.
I started from choosing an appropriate base. Even though I'm not a fan of Pony Life series, Magical Mane Rarity turned out the best option: I didn't have to repaint her body and eyes, and her style and pose was matching my Septima's character.

It turned out her mane and tail are connected since her hair can "grow up". I couln't entirely remove the stopper that was attached to her hair without breaking the pony, so I had to glue it somewhere inside. After removing the hair I painted her new cuitemark, mouth (because white tongue looked a bit odd :lolpony:), hooves and body markings with acrylic paints and then varnished them.

Then I sculpted her new tail with an airdry clay, because I wanted it to be short but puffy, so I decided to give it a base.

After her tail dried, it was time to rehair it - I bought some dollhair on a tape for my pony. The tail looked really funny before haircut and styling :lolpony:
I used two shades of teal and dark brown both for mane and tail.

When the tail was ready, I started working on Septima's mane. It took me several days to attach it, and I also worked with no rush.

And now the most interesting part - haircut and styling! I'm not a hairdresser, so it was really hard to give Septima a correct mane and tail shape :lolpony: Luckily this type of dollhair can be styled with heat.

Everything went smooth until somewhere at this point she fell from a speaker on my table  Her tail unglued a little bit, but I could fix it and luckily that was all!
After styling was finished, I decided to give her some acsessories. I got some leather, small buckles and hairclips from a doll miniature shop and made her bracelets and a choker. I also made her a clef pendant from wire, you can see it on a photoshoot pictures!

One of the best customs I’ve ever seen and a great use of that kind of hair too. Amazing! Looks very accurate to your avatar too.
When I saw the photo of the hair removed I wonder how you’d go about that. So clever

Amazing work :ponylove:
You’ve made the Pony Life mould look so much better

Thank you! :satisfied:
Because of my OC's hairstyle, it was the only way to attach the hair so it would look good. And it also hides sharpness of the mould's cheeks.
very nice! i love a good custom of OCs ♥
Ohmypony that is CUTE!!! You did a fantastic job, the hair is freaking adorable!! Excellent!
Thanks! :satisfied:

Are you going to add the ear piercings?
I wanted to, but didn't know how to do it so it would look nice. Her ears are pretty thick for earrings. I also wanted to make horseshoes for her, but, again, didn't find the appropriate material.
She's adorable! You did a wonderful job with her!
Thank you very much! :satisfied:

Wow what an amazing custom! I love all the details and the hair gradient is *chef's kiss* <3

She looks positively fantastic! You really breathed life into her. What wonderful styling and accessories! That cutie mark came out super super good too.

She's so cool, and you did great on all the little accessories! It's always nice to see G4.5 customs, they're pretty rare.

Thanks! :satisfied: You still can see brush strokes on it if you look closely, but it's always hard to get a smooth surface if you're painting with a brush.

Wow!! This looks so beautiful! I'm really impressed with how well you did the hair, I always have trouble working with wefts but this came out flawless!

So incredible!!! And your photos at the end are magnificent as well!! I agree that this Pony Life Rarity's expression has the same kind of character as Septima, at least from the impression that your profile picture gives. Great work!! :redheart:

Thank you! I even bought a small hair straightener specially to style her hair :lolpony:

I can’t get over how much she looks like your avatar. It’s like she came to life! You did such a good job, you should be very proud. Your photos are beautiful too. Thank you so much for sharing your process!
Thank you, I'm really glad you like her! :ponylove: I also drew the avatar, so that's probably why they look similar :lolpony: Which reminds me I didn't draw any ponies in a while and I really miss it...

Amazing work!! I really enjoy seeing peoples own style showing in customs without looking out of place, if that makes sense! The hair especially is so well done, wow! <3
