Not sure what I have

I'm not sure if this is a variant or not. I have looked at a lot of sites trying to find one like this and have come up with nothing. I wonder if someone here could tell me.
stats: Baby Glory, 1984 made in Hong Kong, lavender mane with blue streak, glitter symbol of shooting star one tail, Tail red plastic strips (like the grass used in Easter baskets)
The tail does not pull out or slide, and it does not make noise when shaken

That looks more like a normal Baby Glory that's just been re-tailed with streamers to me... likely lost the original tail and got that as a replacement.

I guess that could be it. I don't really know much about them. They are all from the collection of nearly 100 that my daughter had as a young girl. (She is now 30 and not interested in keeping them.) I know I didn't replace the tail.

ROFLOL that is hysterically cute. Its a first for me. I have seen all types of re-hairs but, that one is one of a kind. Most likely your daughter or a friend of hers came up with that solution after possibly ruining her original tail. I remember when I was a kid I did the funniest things to some of my toys. Mom remembers things I do not. She may not remember it.

Actually she took amazing care of her ponies. Perhaps this is one I picked up at a yard sale or something. It is weird

Hey you have a point that possibly could be it. Or maybe it belonged to one of her friends that came over. You may never know for sure. Its funny though. Love it.
