Guest, The MLPTP's Fundraiser and Prize Giveaway will be returning on June 1st! Check out this thread for all the latest news!
I’m not really a fan of the .5 gens I always avoided .5 when I was kid like it was I-don’t-know-whatYou need 3.5!
I love them all!
it's still amazing to see the progress and changes they made throughout the generations. Such drastic changes too
It almost looks as if G2 and G3 could have their designed flipped and it’ll then almost look as if it would go into G4 more smoother? They really did travel in different directions with design, didn't they?
I'm with you; I don't much like the .5 gens. 3.5 is growing on me because it's just so outlandishly grotesque and I find charm in that, and I like the fully plastic 4.5s but dislike the brushables, but I can't say I earnestly love either generation like I do the regular gens.I’m not really a fan of the .5 gens I always avoided .5 when I was kid like it was I-don’t-know-what
Maybe I don’t have one of each gen if you count the .5 but I guess I have one of each whole number gen
I have a reboot G4 but that’s DJPON3/Vinyl Scratch but she’s a unicorn
When I saw her in the shop I didn’t notice either, it kind of took me by surprise!they're getting smol-er. i had no idea sunny was that tiny.
I hope you manage to get a G0 soon. One of the things I didn’t expect is just how nice it is to hold underneath your arm and sit with. That idea is carrying under the arm must have gone into the design of the pony because it is so comfortable to say Pony is made from hard plasticI'm with you; I don't much like the .5 gens. 3.5 is growing on me because it's just so outlandishly grotesque and I find charm in that, and I like the fully plastic 4.5s but dislike the brushables, but I can't say I earnestly love either generation like I do the regular gens.
I can't wait to own a G0! It's so cool seeing them all lined up like this. There was an article written by the designers from G3 I saw a while back explaining the thought process that went into designing each generation, and it's really fascinating inferring how want, demand, trends, etc. have influenced designs.
Thank you! I’m not sure if I actually intended to collect one of each gen, I usually go for whatever ponies appeal to me as that’s how I collected as a kid and wouldn’t wanna damage my love of ponies by changing it. I think I collected things differently in my teen years but going for what I truly like best feels much better.I like all your collections and how you collected each one from different generations. My favorite will always be G1.
The lighting is fine in the photos. I saw everything clearly.
I have the Ponyville ponies but I never considered them 3.5. You’re right with the Sweetheart Sisters and Dream Beauties, nobody calls them G1.5 and stuff, and they’re still called G3.5. Also, I don’t think the G5 YouTube series would suddenly be called G5.5 already eitherIn my opinion about the .5s, they're not separate from the gen that spawned them just because they've had a stylistic change.
Sweetheart Sisters and Dream Beauties are drastically different in design, but no one calls them 1.5 and 1.10 or whatever. They're just g1s and are referred to as such, or by their set name.
Thus Ponyvilles, 4.5s, Equestria Girls and Pony Life are still part of G3 and G4.
I still have no idea where to fit the Mishmash? They have recognizable elements of what came before them, but still have unique stylistic choices of their own.

We don't talk about 3.5 >.>
