I have been waiting for this pony for so long...and its so sad she has a factory flaw right on her head. Hasbro created the line for the hair plugs, but there are no hair plugs and all you see is the line marker where they should have been.

I could just cry. I so wanted this pony to complete my set. I have no plans to send her back because, who knows when I will be able to get one at the incredible price I found this one.:ipmimscs:It has been noted though that all these Bright Bouquet ponies have this mark. I was thinking when I got this one she didn't have it, but when she arrived she did.

Unfortunately Hasbro's lines and the actual hair /rarely/ line up. Your seller probably didn't mention it because it is such a common problem.

Most of my G1s have hair that curves away from the guide line or is in a diagonal veering off from it.

Yes and this particular pony I have seen others just like this so something went wrong in the production line of this pony for a few of them anyway.

God, that isn't good. I'm so sorry for you!

Um, actually no it's fine, EVERY single one of these I've found over the years (and I've found over 10 of these easily) has had the hair line. As a seller I wouldn't have mentioned it either, that pretty much how these were made. I doesn't detract from her value.

Yes I noticed this and that is why I was so excited because when I asked and they said nothing was wrong with it I thought I had finally found one that didn't have this flaw...but I will still enjoy her. Especially since it looks like it may be impossible to have one without this flaw. I understand the seller not mentioning it..but I specifically asked about this sort of thing and got a "everything is perfect" response. Thats not right in my mind.

you could always find someone who has extra dolly hair laying around that matches this pony and they could easily fix this and add the extra plugs for you.

i don't get it. i didn't know that was a flaw? i've seen tons of ponies with that. after several years of collecting and selling, i wouldn't have mentioned it because i thought it was normal and just what the pony should look like.

Hmm, I never considered the 'hair line' thing to be a flaw- I always figured it was just standard. How funny!

In my opinion its a factory machine set flaw. They set those lines on the pony in a machine when they make them. The line is only for reference when it comes to rooting the hair. Its never supposed to show. No one wants a line on top of their pony's head. Its like the G3 ponies. I have a few where the dot on their butt where the tail should go is off center. You see the dot...then next to it is a hole with the tail in it. That is the same exact type of factory flaw and its has to do with the measurement of the machine. Chances are the ponies that have this same line were made on the same machine with the same measurement flaw and they sold them anyway...argh

I would actually be pretty happy. I love factory errors.

That's not really a flaw in my eyes, either. All ponies in that pose have one row of hair that's longer than the other. If that line was filled in with plugs, it would extend almost as long has the other row, which would make the hair look awkward compared to every other pony in that pose.

Another thing to consider: was that pony made in China or Hong Kong? Those Family sets were may in both places & sold in the US because that was during the year Hasbro was transitioning their manufacturing out of HK into China. Maybe you could look for one made in the opposite place & it may not have that line?

Just think of it as a birth mark that makes her special~

ROFLOL thats a perfect idea. I also wanted to mention in reference to the other post...this is a Hong Kong set. I do however, I have a Made in China baby B. Bouquet and she is a different color from these slightly. So this is a good idea to consider looking for the China set and seeing if that makes a difference.

I agree that plugs that far up the line would be awful. Hasbro should not have made a marker line so far up the head if they never intended to plug it. I have no intention of getting rid of her. I love her a lot. Its nice to have the information and ideas everyone has presented in this thread.

Thanks all!!

i'll have to peak @ mine ..i've never noticed

Yeeeah, I think the seller understood "flaws" to mean things like pen marks, scratches, paint rubs, hair cuts, dirt... I wouldn't have noticed that as something to report to potential buyers either. I don't think it would be fair to complain to/about the seller because that pony looks to be in pretty pristine condition.

Nope I didn't say a word to her about this..not a word. Just left positive feedback too.

I have other ponies with this kind of hairline (and yep, my bouquet momma has it too) and I just brush the mane the other way on this pose so you don't see (not that you really see it while they are on a shelf, but still... justa thought

=( I am so sorry you are so sad!! BUT she is still beautiful;!!!
