Just curious as to what people think ^^

I know there are lots of differing views on the subject so...lets hear 'em.

Personally, I've paid over £60 for artwork before - i think it's worth the money even for digital pieces that aren't tangible if the artist is to my liking :3

I never take anything for a commish(money and ponies included!),so all of my art is free, but I gladly take art in return..
I never will commish somebody for some art, either,no matter how pretty..I just comment on how pretty it is^^
I do art trades,though^^

Definitely would pay for art, and I have already. If the art is to my taste I'll gladly buy some from the artist! *looks at her three original Ponysyeah works she has hanging in her room* Prints are nice if prices well but I love originals!

I've only bought a few pieces of work in the past - a few from a friend and one at an anime convention - though I would definitely buy an original or a print if I really like the artist or the work in general. :3 I've never asked for a commission though, simply because I'm limited in the number of way I can pay them *must get paypal so that I can commission someone*

I love artwork. I'm willing to pay to have it, gladly. Waitresses get paid to bring you food, librarians get paid to check your books out, etcetera. People who make art deserve to be paid for their services too.
hear hear, I so agree with that <3

I think I've only ever bought 1 piece of art (from Firefrie) so far. I'm guessing were not including customs in this but it is the same as buying a custom. People work hard at what they do and I only wish I had half the talent as you guys .(unless you want to buy my stick figure people drawings! HEHE- I can also make circles on paint!!!)
I can understand why people would give their art away for free but I can't understand why people would refuse to pay or trade for art. If I do buy something however I'd want it to be tangible even though I do love all the digital art you guys do too

I haven't paid for any art yet.. But that's mainly cuz I'm always broke. If I'd have a real income and stuff, so as to say enough money on the hand, there are deffo artists I'd love to buy Art off or even commission them.
I like to look at beautiful art and I'd love to have some here but meh, can't be helped.
I have once in a lifetime tho, bought 2 customs off a friend on the german forums, she really needed the money and well, I had a bit more back then.
All the other nice customs I own were mainly from swaps or secret santas...

There is a lot of awesome art (and customs) that I'm seeing everywhere...
I mainly just wish I could draw like others haha :p
But I'm not near as good so doubt I'll ever offer anything for payment :p

I would gladly pay for art if I had the money to do so!

If I really love the artist work and I can afford it at the time I will buy or trade for artwork, I definitely think that artist should get paid too!

I don't really pay for artwork, I really enjoy doing it for people though! (Free)

if i had money and i like he arties i would i wish i could buy a Lupine but i just dont have the money and i am never lucky to win one

I like the idea of free artz, but I have paid quite a lot for commissions before and would not begrudge someone who's charging for their art. It's a lot of work!

My girlfriend is actually a furry/anime artist who takes commissions and goes to conventions to sell her art, and when I'm in the money (not very often lately, heh) I like to buy the occassional commission from an artist I like, partially to support other artists who are trying to make a living like her.
