Big or small, our ponyrooms can only fit so much before space runs out. Stupid laws of physics :<

I'm already running out of space in mine and looking around I began to wonder... "What will I do when the next generation comes out?" Because there's seriously zero space for me to display yet another generation.

And I'm gonna take a wild guess that there WILL be other generations. Considering the fact that My Little Pony has been a successfull brand for Hasbro since the 80's I'm guessing that when the Brony trend dies out (which it will because well... all trends do) Hasbro is gonna want to up their sales somehow. And then I assume that a new generation targeting the younglings at that time will be made. Of course, just speculations, but if there's one thing I know it's that companies want to make money XD

So yeh, there probably will be more generations, how many we'll just have to see :p But at some point our ponyrooms will be full. So what's your plan when your ponyroom is full and new ponies or even new generations keep being released? Because I honestly have no idea what to do myself XD If the next generation (assuming there will be one) doesn't appeal to me I'm considering just limiting the collection to the first 4. But if it is appealing to me, well... then I'm kinda doomed XD

I'm actually at the point of a full pony room. Mine is totally past packed. I also have to keep my other toys and my Etsy business in there. I have ponies on top of ponies! If G5 came out I would be totally doomed because I know I'd fall in love. I told myself I won't fall in love with G4 but that never lasts :lolpony:

isn't it obvious? the pony gods demand that ye shall build a poneh mansion before the next gen flood arrives! :p honestly I have no idea.

I had to put 99% of my G3's into storage because of this same problem! My walls have long been filled, though I'm starting to debate considering the ceiling as a fifth wall LOL my Flutter ponies already hang from fishing line from the ceiling, so it might not be long until others join them. :flutter2:

My pony room has changed and evolved over the past 15 years, and there doesn't seem to be a way to plan for the future as far as I have experienced. If you leave too much empty space, it feels unfinished, but not enough usable space and it gets cramped. So I just move and change things as my collection changes, personally. :winkpony:

Honestly, I've started to downsize. I know, I know. Not what you wanted to hear. My ponies out grew the pony room long ago and I'm sick of having them in tubs in other rooms. G4s are almost gone (other than the the intial releases and Fashion Style Size) and G3s are gradually getting smaller and smaller. I've kept the first year of G3 MIB as well as the holiday and babies. Probably going to have to make some tough decisions and cut that back even more.

My Roommate and I share the collection room in our house (we call it the Geek Cave). We moved in about a year and a half ago, so we got to start from scratch and planned pretty carefully to use all the space as well as we could. Luckily, Roomy is a She-Ra collector, so she has a fairly limited collection to start with. I try to limit my ponies to mainly brushables and play sets/accessories. And we try to keep other stuff out of the Cave. I really hate having stuff in storage, so I try to keep that in mind when I'm buying merch (do I have room for this?), etc.

The final phase of room setup is to remove the closet doors and add shelves in there for more display space. We've got a bit of space to work with, but we keep half joking that someday we will have to convert the attic into more collection space.

My mlp collection is small but in the process of growing, but I have a small room with so much other stuff. I display ponies on my dresser cause I have a good size dresser. I also have dolls and plushies from when I was little so that is why I don't have room. But I know I will be getting more mlp things in the future. So when I do get more stuff I will have to try to make room by moving all of my plushies and dolls into the closet or in bins. So that is what I'm trying to do. I mostly collect g1, g3 and g4, and if there is another generation(which is a high chance there will be) I'm probably going to have to start hanging them from the ceiling or trying to get my grandfather to build me shelves for them. But I love ponies and I want to display them as best as I can:smile::winkpony:

Only way I'm going to get a Pony Room any time soon is to either give up the library or make my sweet son live in the shed.

Hmm. I'm sure with a few blankets he'd be fine in there...

I think it depends on how you display the ponies on the shelf, too. As I'm slowly organizing, I'm also trying to arrange everyone so they're on a bit of an angle. That way you can see them better than if they're facing straight out, and I can easily make sure they're not touching each other (to avoid colour transfer). It takes up more space than facing them all out, but less than if they're arranged nose to tail. And they're on risers, so I can still get three rows on ponies on a shelf, but also be able to see everyone. Past experience has taught me that there's often 'cheats' like that that can win you a bit more space.

@Elfpony Thats how I display my collection too :) Three levels and the ponies abit on angle but with no touching :p (My main concern is if a pony attracts cancer or similar I dont want it to be in physical contact with other ponies).

I am at the point where Im struggling to find space for Blind Bags XD I still have gaps for the ponies Im missing from generation 1-3.5 so all of those have guaranteed spaces. But beyond that its full on creativity to find spots such as hanging things from the ceiling, from the edges of the shelves and so on XD

@Leave a Whisper My usual thought when I try to figure out where to squeeze in more ponies is "I need to buy a bigger house" XD A pony mansion sounds awesome :D I should really get to work on that before the next generation hits as that seems to be the only solution :p

Right now my ponies share a room with my Nightmare Before Christmas collection. There is certainly not enough room in there for both! But I have slowly been packing up my NBC collectibles (since they are more fragile...especially with a 1 year old running around!) and putting ponies in their place. We are planning on moving within the next year or so anyway, so we will see what kind of pony room I might end up with then.

@Desert_Rose , at least you've left space for the earlier gen ponies that you know you'll eventually be getting. After every MLP Fair (or the odd time I get a new G1 at another time) I end up frowning at my shelves looking for space.

Do you have stuff you can sneak out into another area and still feel ok about that? For example, Roomy and I both have the Funko Pop figures for our collections, but they live outside the Geek Cave since we consider them to be 'extras' to the collection proper. We cheat a bit like that.

I am planning a pony room and thanks for bringing this to my attention!
