First (and finally!) we have a rainbow luck dragon, my long overdue half of a trade with Isabella_Klein. Thanks for being patient dear! I'd forgotten just how fiddly and messy it is combining apoxie, feathers, and paint!
Second, gather round and I'll tell you the tale of Phoenix Ghost.
(warning: long tale of custom frustration!)
She began as a wingless mowhawked Glow (one of my favorite G1 poses!) last spring. I sculpted her wings and rehaired her with a blend of blizzard and moonlight, leaving her body color original. She got put aside for a few weeks, and when I got back to her I noticed some mold spots that either grew quickly or I hadn't noticed before. I decided to paint her white, only when my white paint dried it made a wacky crackled texture. I tried covering the white with a light blue, which looked terrible! Over the next several months I stripped her paint, spray painted her black, sealed her heavily, and eventually got around redesigning her last weekend!
So, reborn out of the ashes of a custom disaster to become a decent custom, she was dubbed Phoenix; and Ghost because of her coloring and because I did much of her painting on Halloween.
Phoenix Ghost (sold)
*sign of relief* It feels good to get both of these done! :troll:
