Pony cancer on a 4gen?

I rescued a Dewdrop Dazzle from a thrift store toy bin. Once home I looked her over and noticed a brown spot on her leg. Figuring it was nothing and not having any other ponies at my new home I decided just to keep her away from my other toys.

Last night I was boiling her hair when I noticed more spots. Now I could have just over looked it but there seems to be a lot more and even spread to her front hooves.

Has anybody else had pony cancer on their newer ponies? Could it be a stand or something else completely?

(I can add pictures on request)

This is the first I've heard of G4 cancer.

I would definitely post pictures so people can get a better idea. Have you tried cleaning her? Sometimes there's dirt on ponies that can be cleaned off; it's happened to me before, but boiling a pony should help with the dirt issue.

I noticed what I believe to be it spreading it yesterday as I was cleaning her and my May Lily. I tried to scrub and even scratch it off. I will take some pictures of her hooves and post it

So sorry that they are bad they are from my phone. All the discolouring is is circled in black.

That's quite unnerving! It certainly looks similar to cancer.
Alternatively, it could be some sort of mold...

Looks like it could be mold. Might have to take head off and clean inside.

I remember looking at some Fashion Style Rainbow Dashes a while back and noticing that one had a small black spot on her head. I've heard of ponies getting cancer from being exposed to high humidity, but I don't think I've heard of them getting cancer while still in the box.

I bought Dewdrop used so I am not sure what happened to her before she came to me.

That does look suspiciously like cancer. There is that microscope video that provides fairly compelling evidence that at least some cases are caused by a bacterium that eats into the plastic, which means the age of the affected toy is irrelevant as long as it's the right kind of plastic.

When I find a spot I soak the pony in a dilute bleach solution overnight, never had it spread after that. I'd be nervous about not taking the head off for the soak though, it is quite the pain to remove G4 heads. On custom bait I slit the back of the neck between the rows of hair plugs to take the head off, then cut around the edge of the neck plug as carefully as possible. To reassemble I glue the neck plug back in with E6000, put the head back on, then glue the back of the neck shut again with some more E6000. It stays flexible and clear, holds well but opens up easily with a little touch of the xacto if you need to get in there again.

I've decided to soak her hooves in 1/3 bleach and water mixture. I haven't seen any more spreading since I posted about it and though she's been kept on the other side of the room from my other ponies they have showed no signs of it. I've tried to remover her head but it's glued on and I do not wish to cut her open.
