Just wondering...When you get in G1s, does anyone take them apart to change out the tail washers or do you only do it when you see the tail rust? Also, is there something other than the two tail weights that will work to hold up a flat foot G1. My poor girls are falling over...
 
marbles ? if they fit down their legs. i don't know :p
 
Marbles have been recommended to me. I'm thinking of using 1-2mm ball-bearings or bee-bees (sp) coated in some sort of glue to keep them from falling into the rest of the body because they can be inserted through a small hole in the bottom of the back hooves. This should only be done if you never intend to get rid of your ponies because some people might not like that you just destroyed the copyright date and the made in China thingies. My Minty seems to stand on her own, but maybe that's just because my love for her gives her the strength and stamina ♥

Marbles it is then. The ones that I have don't fit all the way down but they hold her up good. Maybe I just need to give them more love like Mints!:bighug:
 
I do the same as Brite Sprite. If I'm washing a pony for any other reason, I'll take the tail out first and not put it back in until it's dry. I've had some real trouble with a few rusted tail clamps, so as soon as I see a hint of rust, off they come.
 
I just realised my ball-bearings idea would be silly because they can rust. Maybe some really small marbles :scratch:
 
well i only open if i see rust or if they need to be cleaned/ rerooted.

as to weights; i've only needed to weight one that was front heavy custom and i used nails. long nails. they fit down the back legs and weighted him down nicely (it was a texican snowman pony for my mom at xmas). just encase you don't wanna go out and buy other things; most house have random nails around right? or is it only that way at my house...

I see your point, nope no scuba divers in my herd, I think I will go raid the tool box.

I straight up laughed for ten minutes after reading this. I just had this awesome image of a bunch of ponies on a boat in a bathtub wearing scuba costumes.

Man.... I wish I had been that creative as a child with my ponies, I only even figured out that sea ponies = bath time.
