How has there not been a thread started for this yet? So, good season finale? Did it live up to Hasbro's hype? Too intense? Too dull? Would they have gotten away with it if it weren't for those meddling brony shout-outs?

I loved the last song "Love is in Bloom." I cried at the ending. I think this was a much better season ending than season 1. This really was the BEST WEDDING EVAR!!!

I want a toy version of the Queen Changling. Most definitely *swoons*

Oh my gosh, I just finished watching both parts, I love it! I wasn't sure if I would like Princess Candace honestly simply because she's marrying Shining Armor. (With whom I've fallen in love with.)
But I found that towards the end, I found that I like her too.

When She runs to the rescue of her beloved, it reminded me so much of Sailor moon! *LOL* I never thought that Shining Armor would turn out to be a "Darian" character.
And the end of the show! That was very much like Sailor Moon wasn't it?

Over all I love it!

I So need to customise a G3 pair of this couple.

Being one of the very few pony fans who hasn't seen this episode...

The hype scared me off. :hide:
That and being a parody of the real royal wedding which I wasn't wanting to get involved in the hype either! (Nor do I really agree with the formality and sheer expense of it.. Yes beat me for this but I am not big on the Royals! :nodno:)
...But other than that, yes it's true, I don't think I have a romantic bone in my body!

Will host a stronger opinion once the energy in the crowds die down

Now we have evil fairy ponies. So,you must give us good fairy ponies,Hasbro!YOU MUST!!!!!!!!

I've still yet to see it (planning on watching it tomorrow), but from what I've seen it looks awesome! It reminds me of the wedding part of The Little Mermaid with Ursula. Anything that's like a classic Disney movie is A-OK in my book :D I agree on the notion of a Changling queen toy. She may be one of my favorite characters now <33 Amazing design, interesting motive, VILLAN SONG (<333)...Once I get the money I'm totally getting a custom of her and her changlings. I'm relieved to see that Shining Armor and Cadence are likeable too. The fact that they popped out of nowhere worried me. Totally getting their toys too (though SA might be getting a rehair :p)

I was really worried that it wouldn't live up to the hype, but I loved it. I loved it the most out of all the episodes, and I really didn't expect that at all. I even like Cadence (I'll admit I was biased against just because she was so pink). I even liked all the songs!

Very very pleased. :bounce: AND..... MINIONS!!! THEY GAVE US MINIONS!!!

I liked it but where was princess Luna during all of this? She was obviously in the episode and we see her going to the look out tower and then she pops up again at the very end. Does she sleep during the day or something??

I'm gonna say yes to your question Tiki. I noticed that too. I just finished watching it on You Tube and I cried during half of it.. I loved it.

Yeah, and we were saying, maaaaan, Luna missed all the mess AND the party! She arrives and says,(Paraphrasing, perhaps?) "Did I miss anything?" LOL!

LOVED the finale! We actually got to see Celestia battle someone, too, which was kind of awesome.

DBM, I totally echo that on Princess Luna. I kept thinking, oh man, we saw her once, she's totally gonna swoop in and save the day! A pony friend of mine suggested that it could have so easily been written that Luna approaches Twilight as the only pony who believes her when she's suspicious of Cadence. Which would have made so much sense given Twilight's efforts to befriend her in the past.

Overall though, very enjoyable. Definitely going to watch it again before the meet this weekend! :eek:k:

Okay, The love story DID REMIND ME OF SAILOR MOON TOO!
If Hasbro doesn't make changling toys, it'll sure be fun to make customs! Talk about those holey feet!
Annnd, I think Luna didn't want to partake in helping her sister is because she wanted to watch her be defeated.

I agree that would've been awesome, though it'd also mess with the ending moral a bit. I was kinda surprised when <even Celestia told Twilight off>.

ETA: I still wish they'd <at least made mention of Shining Armor and Cadence in previous episodes. It really wouldn't have been hard, and would've been less jarring than having them appear from out of the blue.> I also have to admit that I was afraid <the "dark secret" with Cadence would wind up being another non-issue, like in It's About Time. Glad to see I was wrong there!>

I was glad Cadence herself wasn't evil, and I like the introduction of the changelings! This was an amazing ep, and I'm glad they didn't fall back on using the elements of Harmony as a deus ex mchina again!

Although, without Luna being involved during the day, that did give them the opening for the groaner "Did I miss anything" when she swooped in at the end of the day LOL. I'm just wondering if there was ever way back when, any mention of TS's brother being a Captain of the Guards in Canterlot? ALthough you'd think that whenever the girls visited Canterlot, they'dve met up with Shining Armor at least one time... So Yeah, I agree; the one sticking point for me is the "out of the blue" bit re: SA. Cadence not so much (for me anyway) she's easily explained into the story line without wondering why we never heard about her before.
Other than that.... MINIONS!!! and WIN WIN WIN!!! :)

I liked the episode. I thought Princess Cadance was adorable. :) But I was surprised that Twilight's friends turned their back on her when she was trying to prove the first Cadance was an imposter. I thought they at least would have tried to talk to her.

I SOOOO need me the queen. WOW! LOL Adding her to my list of must-commission customs. LMAO It's a good thing it's not a long list. And seriously? Since yesterday we've watched the wedding FOUR times. The out of the blue part is annoying, but we made the choice to just go with it - besides complaining a whole ton there isn't any other option. LMAO So we're just accepting it.

I don't remember there ever even being mention of TS having a brother, let alone his job. There've been a few people complaining about that, and so far the Royal Wedding promos seem to be the only source of background for them that's been uncovered. And yeah, it wasn't quite so much a big deal <>about Cadence's unknown background since it was something of a surprise for TS. But how cool would it have been if there'd at least been mention of a favorite foalsitter in a previous ep so we could share in Twilight's surprise and enthusiasm?>

I've a feeling there's going to be rather a lot of customs of <the queen and her minions> soon enough for you to choose from. Say, how long do we keep up the whitetext after an episode anyway?

Yeah, too late in this instance to mitigate the surprise characters; I'd hope it gets the message across to Hasbro and DHX for future episodes that we're paying attention to these details.

ETA: I have this bad habit of commenting on things which I think could've been improved, and leaving it to be assumed that I'm fine with anything I didn't comment on. Probably makes me sound like all I can do is complain. The show itself was pretty awesome, and so far after three viewings I really can't find anything internal to the show that stands out as particularly weak other than <Luna sleeping through an entire battle>, which is pretty minor IMHO. Really, the only things that annoyed me were external to the episode--lack of prior mention, and the sheer over-promotion of it by Hasbro.
