price check

Hey bt! To do a proper price check, we really need more info. I know this is a Rainbow G1 pony you are talking about but not everyone will know that unless you say so. Are there any flaws to this pony like marks, haircuts, etc? Pictures also help a lot. If you don't already, I recommend signing up for a photobucket account (it's free). You can upload photos into photobucket and then paste them into your posts here. It's super easy and we all like looking at pictures!

With more info and a picture, you can count on pretty accurate price checks from the pony people here.

Without much info, you get a range like this:
Poor: $1-2 (glitter rust, frizzy hair, hair cuts body marks, damage to paint)

Mint and complete with all accessories $25 (brush w/ sticker label, comb, ribbon, round scented sticker) Accounts for perfect silky hair, full glitter on symbols, no paint scratches, and a mark free body.

Average condition with some imperfections (played with no hair cuts, needing a clean) $4-5

On Ebay - probably $15-19, On the MLPTP, around 20-40% less since she's so common.

I'm with FantasticFirefly- at the $5 range. That one on etsy looks nice so maybe more like $7. However, with the cost of shipping, I wouldn't go for it. Shipping for a single pony within the US can be in a padded envelope for closer to $3.50. She's not a rare pony by any means and you could probably get her cheaper elsewhere. Like a lot of people said, if you are patient, you will find good deals like lots where you can sell or trade the ones you don't want or BIN (by it now) on eBay for good prices!

I think a really good rule of thumb for you since you are just starting is to not pay more than $10 per pony (including shipping costs) (or $12 or $15 or whatever you are comfortable with). Of course, that depends on the rarity of what you are looking at but most of the early ones that you seem to currently be interested in aren't rare. So, shop for lots or you can always ask for a discount for multiple purchases when you buy on the boards. Not every seller is willing to give you a lower price but it doesn't hurt to ask!

Agreed. With shipping, that one is too expensive.
