Me and Pikabubba did a private mommy swap. I am so a beginner I decided to do two for her to get in the extra practice in. Momma Squirmy was my first yellow full body repaint and I learned a lot from her. I was able to do Momma LL much better for it. She was a lickety split I think..maybe..i forget X_X but the yellow gave me issue and it is not the color I really wanted.
I am much happier with Momma Lucky Leaf. Her FBR is much smoother and the body color matches better. All around a better pony. It was a great learning experience though.

Also first time I tried pins in the hair.
 
I'm so nervous to try hair-pinning but it always looks so gorgeous! Was it hard??
 
awww i think they're both lovely! and they match their babys really well. yellow is annoying, and if you're ttying for a specifc shade it can be a bit annoyng trying to mix it *exact* but i think you did great! both look really smooth, and so what if Mommy Squirmy is a bit darker; she' sthe momma! mayb the daddy is white thus the baby is lighter. i admit, hte symbol being outlined throws me a bit, but again she's a momma so she can be different. i think you did a great job on both of them and i bet Pika's thrilled to have more yellow pony goodness ^^

It was hard till I got the hair wet, then it was a bit easier. I should have used a lot more hair for it though. I am not sure how well it shipped though, I was nervous to spray it or glue it or anything so it might have gotten a little frizzy. I love the way other people's look but I am not sure it is something I will be doing too often. Here is a tutorial that I was linked to in chat (sorry, can't remember who shared it *looks at sev* )

I love them both. Mimm is very good at what she does. She is so very picky. I mean...if this is beginner, I can only imagine 6 months from now XD
Course she had to outdo me and make 2 mommies instead of one haha
Again- great job mimm. They were fine when they got to me and thank you again for the great magnet you put in the box too!
 
I agree with kala I LOVE mommy LL she's so cute! make's me want a mommy and a baby :)

That looks awesome for a first try! I have a box of baits that I'm dying to get to work on - photos like yours are so inspirational to me :) And thank you for the link back to the tutorial (I maintain PonyCustoms.com)
 
You guys are so nice!! Yeah, I think that mixing the paint is where I really need to work on and maybe a little better brushes. I have some ideas for some g3 customs now so after the Halloween Swap, there should be some more. Thanks so much for the wonderful comments! You are all wonderful! :sunny:
 
Okay, I did one custom yellow pony. ONE. And decided I would never do yellow again. Major kudos to you for tackling two and totally nailing it. These look great! Fabulous work. I look forward to more of your customs.

Hehehe, I'm with you there Aadra!
Although I'll totally do another yellow pony... if it doesn't need a FBR! LOL.
I think part of my problem is I was trying to go from purple (Tinka) to yellow... I didn't even finish! I still have a splotchy yellow pony in my bait box XD I gave up and ran out looking for a yellow pony in the same pose.
