Puzzling Lemon Drop

I have a neat old Lemon Drop I got when I was a kid. I just realized a while ago she's not exactly like any of Lemon Drops I've read about (in My Little Wiki and various Pony blogs).

First of all, she did not come with the Show Stable.
I've pondered about her history with my mother and she also remembers that it was just the pony alone, and that she probably ordered it from a Finnish mail order catalog Anttila. (I'm from Finland)

The pony has c'82 HASBRO PAT PEND in one front hoof and HONG KONG in the other.
The droplets in her marking are blue, not purple, and less squiggly than the purple ones seem to be. I include a couple of photos, but unfortunately I only have a cell phone camera, so the quality is not good.

I've seen these blue marked ones around and I know they are not uncommon. But without the stable? Does anyone have more information about this? Any Finns who have firsthand knowledge?
Thank you!

I thought the two stamped lemondrops all came with the stables, there is a euro version with blush. I believe the four stamped lemondrop is the mail order version. So not really sure.

There are so many variations to Lemon Drop! She's probably faded (some purple tends to do that) and is probably just a normal version. She was available through the mail so it's likely your mother could have gotten her that way, though I'm not sure of the availability of the mail order ponies overseas.

I don't remember, but I think Lemondrop also released with a buggy in Europe. Or was it just baby Lemondrop? If she was, maybe that's the one you have.

*edit* Oops.....I just looked it up, and I am thinking about Bowtie. Sorry....I'm no help. lol

Both Baby Bow tie and Baby Lemondrop came with carriages. ;) They didn't come with their mothers though.

With regards to my Lemondrops: my first was a light blue one in appearance the same as yours, Nobokkan my second came with the Schoolhouse and is a dark purple. It was my understanding that the second was mail-order overstock from the US.
I can't comment on the stamps underneath as they're both packed away on top of the cupboard. :/ I just remember the symbols because it was how I could tell them apart (and still can). XD

I have 2 versions of Lemondrop too, one of which has the light blue raindrop symbol as in your original pic. Like yours, they are both stamped Hong Kong with '82 HASBRO PAT PEND and neither has any blush.

The only difference between them is the colour of the symbols, and the body of the one with the light blue symbols is a paler yellow. However, I do not believe that the symbols have simply faded as they still look 'fresh'. Also, the raindrops are a different shape from the darker purple ones on the other Lemondrop! They are less 'squiggly', as you said!

As far as I know, my variant Lemondrop has not come from Finland....so, she seems to be a bit of a mystery!

Lemon drop was made so many times, lots of variations! But as was mentioned lavender and purple paint is photosensitive. Light can easily fade out the red pigments leaving the paint looking more periwinkle. Finding slightly different hoof markings *two feet stamped instead of four and slight symbols variations is common. :)
