Okay, I'm going to ramble on a bit here, so please forgive me for that. I have mostly made up my mind for this issue, I think... but I still would like some opinions, and/or clarifications on these two. Thank you. ^_^;;

Is there a discernible difference between these two, or are they practically identical? I'm debating whether or not it's worth it to hunt for - and identify - the differences between the store/playset version of these two, and the mail order versions. I'm also kind of getting mixed signals/information, which is confusing me further. x_x;

The My Little Pony wiki doesn't make ANY sort of note on differences between the playset and mail-order versions of either Lemon Drop or Sprinkles.

Ponyland Press DOES note there's a difference between the two, but it's very minor in the case of Lemon Drop: store version has lavender eyes, mail order has blue eyes. Is this correct, to those who know? Ponyland Press's info on Sprinkles, though... seems contradictory. x.x; They have a different description for the store version and mail order version.

To quote:
Store Version page: "Sprinkles is a pale lavender-pink adult pegasus pony with blue hair and blue eyes. ... Sprinkles was later released again through mail order offers, and the second version was a brighter shade of pink."

Mail Order Version page: "Sprinkles is a pale lavender-pink adult pegasus pony with blue hair and blue eyes. Sprinkles was originally released in stores, and was a paler shade of pink."

.... So which is it?! @_x; Is the store Sprinkles lavender-pink, or pale pink? Is the mail order a brighter pink, or a lavender-pink?

....And is it a visible-enough difference to make a difference? Because at this point, I'm starting to think there really is not a big enough difference to warrant me hunting them down and adding them to my collection. :/ I would still appreciate some clarification, either way.

Thank you for listening to me ramble. ^_^;;

Lemon Drop - She was available for so long there are lots of batch variations (eyes, symbols, hoof stamps) plus purple eyes do fade to blue. I'm not sure if anyone has ever been able to pin down any one feature that can definitively prove a particular pony is the mail order version of her.

Sprinkles - I'm not sure how the mail order version missed getting a mention on the wiki. Waterfall Sprinkles is a pale lavender that tends to fade/discolor to an almost gray color. Mail order Sprinkles is distinctly pink - to the point where she can be mistaken for Firefly in pictures if you can't see the symbols. Taffeta has a good comparison photo on her site: http://www.etherella.com/scrapbook2/sprinkles.htm

Thank you! So no real difference in the Lemon Drops... that's good to know. I can take her mail order version off my checklist, then. ^_^;

And wow! Yes... mail order Sprinkles is definitely a very brighter pink than the store version! That's a definite distinction between the two, so she'll be kept on the checklist. :)

Thank you for all your help! :D

Mo lemon drop only has imprints on two hooves and her drops are curved. Pretty distinctive actually. Not to be gross, but they are kinda shaped like sperm. Please don't hate me or think I'm nasty. I had two mo lemon drops. Sprinkles I heard is much more pink in the mo version, but I've never seen her.

Why would I think you were nasty, or hate you for that? I'd never do that! :) You're simply making a comparison. And that is interesting... MO Lemon Drops' ... drops have a curve to them. Okay! Thank you! This is very interesting information! :D

And with that information... MO Lemon Drop is back on the list. (lol)

I just put words together wrong sometimes and really don't like offending unintentionally.

I've been digging through old threads about her over on the Arena and all that really seems to be agreed on is that the eye color is that the blue eyes thing is just fading. Dark purple thin/curved drops and 4 hoof stamps made in Hong Kong seems to be the most commonly thought to be the mail order, but even that is not 100% agreed upon as being definitively mail order though it sounds like the most likely variation to be so. Apparently you can find the dark purple thin drops on made in China ponies and Hong Kong ponies with only two hooves marked - neither version believed to be mail order - and you can find Hong Kong 4 stamped ponies with lighter purple fatter drops. Here are some of the threads I found (and this isn't even half of them - there's that much confusion over her):

I wish I could read these. I just go off what research I can do on all the pony info sites. :)

I can't see the pics, as I'm not a member of the Arena... but just reading them.... hooo boy! (lol) Well... at least it makes me feel better that I'm not the only one lost and confused about all this. XD

Thanks for all of your hunting! :) So many Lemon Drops... x.x;

Only a few pictures are visible anyway - the rest are either no longer online at all or linked from Photobucket. I'm not sure who has more variations - Lemon Drop or Peachy. And just to confuse things further, I just now decided to check my Lemon Drop:

So, dark purple curvy drops with four hoof stamps that which seems to indicate she should be the mail order version by most accounts, but since she's a childhood pony, I can say with 100% certainty that she came with the Show Stable.

Which is your favorite? I think German baby lemon drop is the cutest.
I can agree with that - she's my favorite too.

.... so in other words we're back to square one on if the curvy drops are MO or store XD ... orz oh well ^.^;; Maybe instead of trying to figure out if it's store or MO... I should just focus on hunting out the 'straight drops' and 'wiggly drops'. XD

ooooh... and yes, German baby Lemon Drop is adorable :D

Haha! You know I never saw it as that before but now that you bring it up it's all I see LOL In my mind I think poor Lemon Drop is never going to be the same again!
