my pride, and joy.
I always wanted a ranchu but they are so expensive!
I figured I'd have to save up, but one day my Dad bought chuchu for me at a pet store for $44!
she made me so happy with her cute little chubby face and her stumpy little fins. I'm happy I had her, and I'll probably get another ranchu at some point.
I love ranchu, I knew before I got her that this breed of fish isn't very hardy due to the selective breeding to create the adorable egg-shaped body.
the ranchu has the same insides as a standard comet goldfish but in a crunched-down form so most ranchu get an impacted Collin or something happens to their swim bladder like an internal infection or a tumor and either thing can happen without warning so I was emotionally prepared for the possibility of her passing away at any time.
I love goldfish and I'll always treasure the time we had together.
fun fact about Japan, they feel the same superstition about the number 4 as Americans feel about the unlucky number 13 because 4 in Japanese sounds similar to the word for death, and some buildings in Japan don't have the 4th floor as a pretty interesting result.,
