(RANT) I am sick and tired of this!!

I know it happened to me (the other way around) yesterday. Someone asked about one of my ponies but I had already agreed to sell it to someone else the day before. It sometimes takes me almost 3 days to get around to update my site/posts, but I don't think it should be discouraging.

It sounds like you've been unlucky lately, that's all. It'll pick up, I'm sure :)

How you handle the fact that a pony sold before you could get to it is up to you, but it's better to make friends with a seller than to burn the bridge. (I think you have a pretty good idea as to what I am talking about - seeing that I did not have the opportunity to update my site on the G3 babies when they sold yesterday, and your response to finding out they were sold....well it left alot to be desired!!! It will make me think twice about working with you, that is certain.)

Here's my point right here. The ponies I wanted sold "yesterday" BUT you posted the thread TODAY. This is what I am talking about. I am sorry, but its why I am upset. and I am not trying to be dramatic about this whole thing really. It was false advertising. Dont post ponies on here to sell if they are already sold. I am not trying to make you upset at me, and to let you know this thread, its not about you... Ive had so many more on here.

for some reason ive had a lot of problems. more than ebay. Ive had sellers on here send me the wrong ponies, and fight with me saying they didnt. Ive had people promise me something, and then turn around and sell it to someone else.

I understand it takes time to complete a collection, I know. Ive tried putting up a Wanted list, but I keep getting people with the ponies I already own which is fine. Or, I dont get any pm's at all. so I end up finding a Newly made thread and post asap. but to find out a problem.

please dont hate me, or "burn" me. If you were in my shoes, you would be feeling the same way right now.

It feels like Ebay is better. I am not trying to make anyone feel bad or nothing, its just ive had so many problems. Ill give the buying a rest from the site for awhile.

If you are this dramatic over something as trivial as this, I hate to see what your reaction would be if something bigger happened, like a pony was not as described or damaged/lost in the mail.

Uh, sorry sweetheart, but no I would not feel the same way as you do right now.

I don't stress over trivial things like this. It's so not worth what you are putting yourself through at the moment, over a pony. I've been in the pony community for several years now (over 5 I think), and this has happened to me more times than I can remember, and my reaction is pretty much always the same.

I shrug my shoulders and say oh well, maybe next time instead of getting all up in arms about a pony that was sold before I could get to it.

I don't get upset or over dramatic because someone didn't update their list. And I can't say that I have really have anyone crab at me becasue I sold something they wanted and didn't have it marked as sold. I guess the people I normally deal with are a lot more laid back.

It happens all the time, and its something you will most likely have to get used to, not just within the pony community but in life outside of the internet. Maybe with a little more time in the community (I am assuming that you are newer in the community, seeing you joined here in Oct '08 you will find a way to not get so stressed over such trivial things.

wow. seriously, you're very rude. I apologized and this is how you respond to my apology. I was never talking about you, and I told you that. Yeah, I might be new to "this" community, but not the pony community. Ive been collecting for years as well. I'm going to get upset. I ranted, and some of you people are putting me down and it hurts. I randomly ranted, and NEVER said a certain person. ouch, I usually dont let things get to me. but now it does. seeing how some people react it hurts.

CAN SOMEONE DELETE THIS THREAD THEN.

I dont want to see how many people take a hit on me. please. I was only getting out my feelings and now I regret doing so. now I feel people are going to see me as a bad person, and I want to hide right now and never come back. but I couldnt.

Everyone is entitled to a rant now and then. :)

I haven't traded or brought anything from any of the pony communities yet. I tend to stick with ebay and I've had almost no problems. Maybe you should try sticking to ebay too for a while so you don't have to deal with these frustrations. You can still enjoy being a member of the pony community without having to trade here :D

It does happen. It took me years to get my SS Scrumptious because it is a pony that is scooped very quickly. I even tried telling people I would pay more than the asking price! However, it was always first come, first serve. So they miss out on more money and I miss out on a pony. I finally did get her in a trade last year. It made the wait very worthwhile.

It takes a lot of patience. Lol, and if you think it's tough trying to collect ponies you should try playing pokemon. So, many, elusive pokemons....

Life happens for everyone. I'm one of those people who took forever to update her threads. We had to move in a hurry the week before Christmas, so I have no idea where a lot of my sales items are right now. I've had to respond to several people to tell them that before I remembered to update my threads last week.

I don't think anyone is intentionally being rude. I understand that you're upset. We've all been through this, but you just have to take it in stride and move on to the next thread/auction. Don't give up on ponies altogether because you've had a bad week. Totally cliché, here, but good things come to those who wait. Also, how you deal with rejection now may affect whether or not people will deal with you later...

lol I think this thread is funny. I mean.. that is the fun in collecting.. is it not? It is fun to finally get a hold of that pony that you have been looking for!

Cheer up and keep looking! Enjoy life it's to short to get annoyed at such small things.

I've gotten very aggravated and frustrated before too. My worst one, was when I contacted someone about a lot of 80 ponies, including Baby Princess sparkle and all the baby ponies and pretty pals! I sent her a money order and everything! Got the money order back about a week later.. contacted her saying "Oh! Sorry about that! Messed up your address by one letter!" and sent it back out. She came back a couple of days later telling me that when they didn't get my MO they thought I didn't want them and sold them to someone else! What lies!! When my MO finally came back 2 weeks later, "Return to sender" was written on the front with the exact same handwriting... so they lied to me the whole time! I was really in a fit over that!

(NOTE: This was no one here.. it was a private deal offsite!)

It sucks, but sometimes, you miss out on things you really want. I was heartbroken over that one and threw a fit in real life (and I'm 34!) In the grand scheme of things though.. it's not the end of the world.. and you shouldn't let it sour you against the community here. There's a bunch of great people here (I'm sure you are one of 'em!) It's just some times, real life gets in the way of pony-ing. Sellers have jobs and kids..and sometimes, maybe they're absent minded. (I know I am just in general.)

You're more likely to find better deals here than on ebay. You just have to be patient and go with the flow. I've found that sometimes, then I miss out on a pony I really want, I get her later for cheaper, or in better condition! (It wont happen with Baby Princess Sparkle.. but it does with some)

I'm sorry this has happened to you and I know how frustrating it can be! It's just like being sniped at the last second on eBay.

However, as a seller, I can also tell you that it's hard to update your site constantly after someone wants to buy a pony, because you're at work or away. I've had ponies that'll be on my site for months and months and then two people will pm me the same day wanting to buy it and I have to let one of them down. I hate doing that and I always wish I had an extra one lying around to help them out.

The best advice I can give is put yourself in the seller's shoes. Think of how bad that person feels to have to turn you down, especially if they know it's a set-completer or one you've been seeking for quite a while. They aren't turning you down to be rude. Someone just beat you to it.

So much stress over somethin we so love : \

Hang in there man. **** happens. It's hard to stay on top of it all. I can see how yer upset buuuut, this upset? *dodges fakies* Then again I get upset when I'm having a bad eyebrow day *shrug* Don't give up yer pony hunting it's all fun! *hugs*

You know what they say, you snooze you loose. I know it sucks to have that happen, but sometimes people can't always update their sale threads immediately after a pony is sold or put on hold. It's not their fault. People have lives outside of the internet.

Cheer up. :) Maybe try eBay's BIN if you want to purchase something immediately. That way you'll know for certain the item you want is available.

Thanks to everyone who was nice.

I am better today. I never really wanted to get rid of my collection I just was so frustrated. I know, I shouldnt have really made this thread, and I understand everyone has a life outside this community. I am going to take a break from PMing people about there ponies for sale. I will however re-do my want list and bump it every month or so to remind people of what I need.

thanks and sorry,

crystal
