So, I like my ponies out of their boxes, and I treated myself to a couple of Basic Fun retro ponies including Minty, who I always wanted as a kid but never had. But once I've wrestled them out of the packaging (how do kids these days cope!), they seem to come with some sort of glue or fixative in their hair - part of the mane is stiff and clumped together. Water doesn't wash it out, so far I've been just rolling it between my fingers to break it up which sort of works but not completely. Has anyone come up with a good way of getting rid of it?

Soak it and set conditioner in it for a few hours.

Thank you! Do you mean people conditioner, or fabric conditioner? I haven't been paying any attention to my pony collection since about 2003 but I remember fabric conditioner worked well on their hair.

Hair conditioner.

Basic Fun likes to put hair gel on the retro g1 ponies, to keep the ponies hair in place in the packaging. I personally don't like the dry texture either, probably why the crunchy texture. Usually you can comb out the gel or wash it out.

just comb it or wash it out !! i just brush it but if i want to style it ill wash it how i normally would then atyle it
