Hi ponies! Hubby and I are moving into our first home and I was lucky enough to get a room for myself (which clearly will be for displaying ponies :)

So I want to see how everyone else displays their girls ( and boys!!) plus I think it would be fun to see everyone's collections :)

So, how do you all display? Do you have a special way of stacking and showing them off? Do you have a designated shelf, or do you need a whole closet?

:) pics of my room will be osted as I start working :)
 
I have Ikea shelves and risers. :) Ponies are grouped by set but not necessarily by year (yet).

Dude. You should see Aadra310's or Jewel's collection displays. Epic.
 
This is my chance to show off my new shelves! The Blind Bags are in a spice rack from the thrift store, the G1s on some shelves from the thrift store as well, my hutch, and the best are my new Cubeicles (I think that's how they spell it) from Target.

Love it, girls! Melissa, look at all those lovely G3s, you have a ton! What a great idea to display them on racks like that, they look awesome! And YAY for Anchors away!! :)

Pinkie, your room is amazing! 0.o I love your thrift stôre spice rack, it's perfect for displaying your blind bags. You have sooooo many ponies and I love how nicely displayed they all are; I'll have to hire you to come organize my room for me, lol!!

Thank you! I'm no expert organizer! I can never decide how to put my ponies. I'm always seeing other's displays and liking their ideas better. It's taken a long time to get my room to where it us now, and I rearrange things alot. I can't decide between rainbow order, pose order, or by sets. The thrift store is great for shelving!

Not sure what I will do next year when I graduate High School. My Dad is Military and this where he will retire, so I finally got my first non-rental room to paint the walls and build shelves in! It's a shame I have to do it all over again. On the bright side, I already have the furnature!



Melissa's G3 collection is really impressive. I'm a huge G3 fan myself, because it was my childhood. I wouldn't mind stealing a couple off her shelves! I'd never do that, but in my head I'm picking out who would go home with me. Does anyone else do that when looking at other collections? I would love to visit another collector's home one day! I'd have anyone over! My room is a pony haven my parents and I worked hard on for the past 3 years of living here. I'd love to have someone appreciate that in person, it's very hard to photograph my oddly shaped room.

I'd say my best decision was the color. I wanted baby pink at first, but I own alot of pink (wear it too, so I'd be lost) the green just makes all my ponies stand out. I regretted not painting it pink at first, but it grew on me. I love Melissa's wall color. Lavender is one of my favorites! That would look so pretty in a pony room as well.

In my opinion, the best pony rooms are MustbeJewel's and Summer Hayes'. I can get you links if you want.

Yes, Anchor's Away is currently getting a rehair from Oneleo1, but I got her for... $1!!! So I was more than willing to pay for a rehair.

And I've gotten bot 50 more G3s since the pic was take lol.
 
Don't have nay updated pictures, but I sort mine by pose. and my G1s, G3s, and G4s all are on their own separate shelves. Not mixed together.
 
I don't have a pony room, so they have to share with books...but if I did have a pony room, I would make a maze with wide tables, and line the upper walls with shelves. On the tables, I would create a pony world with the playsets, and have the ponies posing and playing amongst all that. The shelves would hold miscelllaneous stuff and "special" ponies that need to be kept more safe. I would try to have enough track from the G4 train set to have the trains running all through. :)
 
PonyMommy, I think you have my heaven there with all those ponies!! Pinkie I'm loving your display too, looks lovely!
I've taken a few of my shelves today, sorry they might be a bit dull - the weather is dreary today!

PONY DISPLAYS! YES! These are always some of my favorite threads! I love looking at the diversity in other collections as well as how things are displayed!


Melissa- Love your FiM posters! Get this, I don't have to be jealous of your Stylin' Cheerilee, anymore! I snagged one! Woo!


Pinkie- OMG... love your room! That color was a gutsy choice and it looks fabulous! That BB display is awesome! I want that!


PonyMommy- I can't imagine all the hours of fun you and the hubby have had collecting and displaying all that awesome stuff. WOW!


DBMom- your fantasy pony room is AMAZING! Lol!

The hubs and I moved to a new house about 7 months ago and I was so excited because we will be staying here for a long time and I could actually have a pony room! Really, a pony half room since it still has to function as my crafting space and a guest room for our occasionally guests! I've been mentally planning a room for nearly 2 decades and this is the result...

I know what you're thinking... WHHHHAAAT? For a pony room, there sure aren't very many ponies, Aadra. Well, I spent literally all day (yesterday, actually!) installing that very big ceiling mount curtain. Did it all by myself :yay:. Why? Two reasons.
1) The only guest we ever has is my husband's friend. He says sleeping with a bunch of ponies looking at him freaks him out.

2) I'm paranoid that light will fade my collection.

Aadra - you know, I have my own pony room and nearly identical shelving, and I still hate you. Hate you so hard.

Curtains look great, how did you mount them to the ceiling?

EDIT - also Baby Frosting fell over in your pic.

Whatever. I hate you so hard for all your variants!
Mounting the curtains wasn't easy but with a laser level, a power drill, and a few muttered curses, I got it done!
Gah, Baby Frosting! Always trying to nom on other ponies!

Jewel- there really is no smilie that adequately conveys my reaction when I see your room. It's kinda like this :eeek: followed by this :486:. Oh, help me out! My mom got me one of these and I'm not sure where it's from- the 6 stall carry case sitting directly on top of your Home Sweet Home. I SOOOO want all your MIB G2s... and those custom Rapunzels, and prototypes, and ...oh sheesh! All of it!
 
I'll be showing my other half that pony room as a comparison of what to expect as time goes on! Wow!!

Pinkie - yes, I love the green!! So happy you finally had your own space! It is too bad that you may need to do it again elsewhere but hey, you can redecorate all over again :D and yes! I would love to visit other collectors rooms too. Sometimes I wish I could stick us all in the same place :( I really need to go to a pony convention soonf. I've still never been!

Pony mommy: I remember checking out your thread! Ah-mazing! So nice that you and hubby share the fun together :) I'm glad my hubby is nice about my collecting and happy to let me pony-ize a whole room in our house, haha

Dialga's mom, I like your idea! Someday you can bring it to life :) I like the idea of the ponies playing within the accessories, where they belong.

Tancho, your display is fantastic! Love all those big brother boys, all lined up with their accessories! They look so great together, I don't think I've ever seen so many in a row like that!

Aadra - oh my gosh, where to even start, haha!!! First of all , LOVE the Patrick Stewart face. And your wall is impeccable. The moc side is blowing my mind, and cracks me up because It's not just a row of mint card ponies, there are tons and tons more hiding behind them! You're room is a store!!! *What are those two big ponies in the to right corner in the 8th pick down? They look like giant BBE ponies. I've never seen them before

They're called Soft and Sleepy Newborns. I have no idea who thought it would be a good idea to call them "soft" because they most certainly are not! Their eyes close if you tilt the body and they came with a diaper, bonnet, pacifier, and brush.
I remember the first time I saw one in a flea market I almost passed her up because well... they are kinda creepy if you want to know the truth!

Oh, and pony art by dizziness! SO CUTE!
