oh heck...I bought two lots of ponies, both containing MB's, these are the auctions:

that has Sunburst and tex in it.

lilly bird's has tornado and fireball in it.

granted, from the first look they LOOK like good bargains..nuh-uh, not a chance, I got burned again:
*first auction*
2 Snowflakes - actually pretty nice, I like them!
Starshine - white, no cancer, a couple of highlighter marks, 80% glitter, nice hair
Tex - okay, a couple of marks, tail trim
Sunbusrt - GAH no tail (well I knew that alrady) and his body is full of rust! :( I'm cleaning him up now

*second auction*
Gusty - discoloured, but nice symbols/hair, a few marks
Fireball - okay bar the HIDEOUS DISCOLOURATION under his mane!
Tornado - matted tail, worst haircut in the world! :(
Forget-me-not - matted hair, crossed front legs
TAF Fifi - well she's nice but I haven't cleaned her yet
FT quackers - discoloured, forelock buzz
Twin sticky/sniffles - she's okay, not bad at all
Tiddlywinks - wow! Pink hair! some slight symbol damage
sister apple delight - cleaned up nicely, pity about the hoof-varnish...
brother bright bouquet - cleaned up nicely, some ingrained dirt/marks
4 speed - buzzed forelock, grubby, haven't cleaned yet
MM Floater - hmm, okay, haven't cleaned her yet
MM Windy - ditto, but a bit care-worn
Confetti - matted tail
NSS Shady - frizzed/matted hair, but I haven't cleaned her up yet.
Twisty Tail - don't get me started on her hair...
Sundance - horrible! pen marks, hiar cuts, highlighter and discolouration!

*head desk* so were they worth it? I mean, the first auction worked out at £3.67 per pony, the second came to £3.52 per pony, I'm happy that I got the mountain boys, but they're in such bad condition.

So, I need your opinions, did I get burned or a bargain? *hugs Gusty*

also, is it worth re-hairing tornado in restoredoll pink/blue, or getting a MLP hair tail and doing his mane in restoredoll white?
 
Hi there,

As for rehairing - USE 100% MLP HAIR! It will look and feel more natural (and BE more natural), it won't melt with heat, and you'll feel better about it. In my oppinion anyway. Nothin' - I say NOTHIN' beats genuine MLP hair! Especially for a rare pony re-root. :D Even if it IS white. I'd say that's better than thin MLP hair simulations. :?

thanks Yuixe, I do have a ful faded-pink (now white) tail to use for his mane, and I might be able to save that tail he's already got. Poor boys...anyone got any mlp blue or will sprinkles be donating again?

*gets bitten by angry balding sprinkles* oww!
 
Wow, I feel for you hon. For htf ponies, I prefer to buy them individually and ask the sellers a lot of questions to make they're in awesome condition :) I don't mind paying more. It's better than being at the bitter end of disappointment. I've been there before, so I know exactly how ya feel.... a little cheated I guess. I bought a lot of ponies a few years back, and Baby Blue Ribbon turned out to be covered in black marker. She's still a sorry case now, but there's nothing much I can do.Has to buy a replacement :/
 
As i said, if you need any help fixing them up lemmy know i have ALOT of hair around my house lol :)
 
lol! All my white-haired ponies have hidden at the backs of the shelves! Poor Tornado is going to have to have a lopped-off blue streak and full length white mane until I find some more blue for him and 4-speed.

hey, my 4 speed doesn't have cancer :D and neither does Tex! :woot: I thought they were demons for getting the little brown spots.

Was 4sppeds hair the same colour as tornados? (forgive me i only have steamer and salty lol)

i might have some of the colour you need.
 
yeah his hair is the same dark-blue, but like I said I need to give him a bath first, he's filthy! I still have to get the nail polish off of baby sister apple delight (she's so CUTE!)
 
Eeeew she had NAIL POLISH? poor pony!!! Lady Sea Shell found this FABULOUS NPR that took off EVERYTHING. I'm having such a hard time deflocking this one ribbon, i wish i had that NPR.

oh well lol

A suggestion, get a non corrosive bathroom cleaner (something that gets rid of lime and rust in showers). and put it INSIDE the dirty ponies and wash with Q-tip. they come out squeaky clean.
 
ooh thanks, so far I've been scrubbing with soap and a toothbrush! lol!
