Sticky Pony

I have just began to customize my first pony.. although I am having a bit of trouble. The paint on the pony STILL hasnt dried, and it has been a few days since i painted it. It's body now feels sticky, no matter what I do. I have tried blowdrying it on cool, and have even cooked it on a cool oven, so get the air flowing around it. Nothing has been working for me. The only thing I can think of that may be stopping it going dry is perhaps the humidity? Does anyone have any ideas on what is causing this, and more importantly, how I can fix it??

what kind of paint did you use? that sounds like what happened to me when i used fabric paint on my first custom. you want to get acrylic paints, like folk art. craft stores and many places like walmart will have them in the craft section. you can get little bottles for less than a dollar.

Hmm, well, I did use acrylic paints. I bought them from my newsagents. Yesterday afternoon I tried priming one, in case that had something to do with it, and now the primer has gone sticky too! So, i think it must have something to do with the weather. I hope it will fix itself, because I would really like to keep working on it :D

Paints can go weird sometimes. Maybe it's the weather, yes - but my red paint acted up horribly with my sealant one time. Wrecked a whole custom. Long story. >_< Is the paint old? Aged paint can go bad sometimes in different ways, I think.

Well, good luck! :eek:k:

I used plain acrylics, too. It might have been the paint, I'm not sure. They were my sisters, so I think they were old. >.< Oh well. It was a birthday present and she didn't really mind...

i use acrylics and i've never had that problem. whats the base though? cos you can have an oil based acrylic and thoes can take weeks to dry...

try sticking her in the freezer/ fridge?

I just put her in the freezer. I checked the paints, and they are water based acrylics, not oil based, so I dont think that is the problem. Also, the paints are brand new, so i dont suppose that is the problem either.

Thanks alot for all your help too. I appreciate it, and hope that I can fix this problem shortly :D Hopefully the freezer will work, and if not, they will just dry up. I think the pony i put primer on has dried up almost completely now, so maybe that is the way to go?? Ill keep you updated on what happens, anyway :D
