Strange things happening with my new pony

Alright I first off want to say sorry for sounding a bit crazy but I want to explain the odd things going on with a pony I recently found.

A few months back I was at a flea market and I came across two ponies at a stall. One was the pink pretty pony and the other was Majesty. They were both in awful shape and truly looked like they had been in a fire. I cleaned them both up so they look new again. I've had no trouble with the pretty pony. The pretty pony sits atop a shelf and nothing goes on it with it. However I often find Majesty on the floor in front of the shelf. I sometimes find her moved to other shelves. Sometimes she is turned around on her shelf. I always put her back where she is suppose to be. Sometimes the two ponies next to her on the floor. I live with my fiance and I know he isn't moving them. I also don't allow animals in the pony room.

Another problem I have with her is she always seems to get sooty again. She also gets a smokey smell again. Now I have given her many, many baths and I have pictures where she is white again. A few days later I find grey on her again. I think the oddest thing is she honestly gives me weird 'vibes'. When I hold her it just feels off. I always have a warm connection to my ponies and I love to fuss with them. I prefer to skip over her. She just seems creepy.

I'm a pretty superstitious person so I believe that strange things can happen. I honestly don't know what to do about this odd little pony. I'm tempted to get rid of her but at the same time I find that silly. She's just a plastic toy but I can't explain away the odd things that happen with her. Can anyone give me any insight on this or what I should do? I know I sound crazy but I'm so torn!

I don't find this odd at all, and certainly don't think you're silly. Then again, look at who's talking. LOL. I quite often buy an item merely because I feel attracted to its energy, or feel as if there might just be some presence there. You don't want to know how many old toys I buy because of this. Western thought could leave you to believe that the item (typically a toy with my findings) can be haunted or possessed. I don't think that's quite the right idea.

Many different cultures have a take on this. Native people (although this is not attributed to my particular tribe) are faithful believers in Manitou, which is the life force or spirit that can reside in anything, a person, an animal, a bow, you name it. These Manitous are little spirits all around that are sent by the Great Spirit to guide or assist. It is not unusual to be at a pow wow and meet someone who claims to own an item that is 'alive' with Manitou. These are considered sacred items, kept in families. If an object should suddenly lose Manitou, it is a terrible situation, as one has to wonder what has happened to cause the little spirit to desert its object. We don't believe Manitou die, because we don't believe spirit dies. So if the object loses Manitou, we believe the spirit has for whatever reason chosen to leave. I have a special thing, something secret I cannot name given to me by my grandmother that is so old know one knows who or where it came from. I believe, in all my heart, as many do in their religions, that this item is not only alive, it protects me and my family. I have been raised to believe this is so, and think nothing odd of it.

The Japanese believe an item can be haunted or possessed by small spirits or kami (I believe this is the right term, I'll check later). Quite often they are described as things possessed by previous owners, such as mirrors or dolls, but it could be attributed to a much loved item coming to a life of its own via strong emotion as well. The Japanese are strong believers in spirits that like to visit people (or even torment them) via a material possession.

The Tibetans have a word "Tulpa" to describe a 'conjured thing' or rather an item so loved or so imprinted with an event that it has a spirit of its own. Tulpas are said to be thought forms that inhibit objects or actually life forces, implanted into something material. It is still under debate by scholars today.

So many people do believe that objects can indeed have a life of their own of sorts, even though they are not organic in nature.

Anyway, I do earnestly believe that objects can be imbibed with something, be it a soul, emotion or energy from owners past. Perhaps Majesty feels bad to you because she was unloved. Perhaps she watched her child suffer abuse. Maybe she's just a sad Pony who's been through a terrible ordeal and isn't quite ready to love again. She may also just be mischievous and trying to freak you out, who knows. I think if you sit and hold her and gain her trust, she may eventually 'tell' you.

If this is a jumble, I apologise. I'm still sort of wack-a-doodle.

First off let me give you a huge hug. Thank you for taking me seriously and not laughing this off! I'm a trash scrapper so I often come across odd thing I find discarded. The weirdest thing I ever found was a girl's whole school file. It had pictures, drawings, dreams, art, all of her work in that one tattered folder. I later found out she was killed a few weeks before she graduated high school. Needless to say I also didn't have a pleasant time with her stuff but I was able to return her things to a close friend who found a lot of closure in the stuff. But that's a whole other story but what I'm trying to say is I completely agree items have energy. I honestly thought of the whole 'haunting' thing with Majesty because of the smoke on her. That's what scared me. I don't want to bring any negative energy or spirits into my home so that's why I wanted to get rid of Majesty. However you've given me a whole different look at it.

I'm a Unitarian so I love studying and trying to learn from different religions and beliefs. I've honestly never heard of Manitou. I think that makes a lot of sense. If you hold an object you can feel energy from it. You can tell what it has been through whether positive or negative. I've always wondered why that is but it does make sense that it has a spirit of its own. Sometimes I come across toys that just feel cold. When I take the time to clean them, name them, make them new again they seem to have a new feel to them. If I treat them with love they seem to get a life of their own. Now I'm not talking about they come to life and do a little dance number. What I'm trying to say is they honestly feel 'happier' or 'brighter'

I find it amazing how many different people believe in spirits in objects. I've always believed in 'vibes' and I guess in that I could say I do believe items have a spirit of their own. Growing up in a very Christian traditional home I always felt ashamed and a bit crazy for saying it like that. I really don't feel bad about it anymore. I just never new that other people thought like that.

I think it might be a little bit of everything. I think she went through something awful. Instead of getting rid of her I'm going to take the extra time to be with her. I'll give her yet another bath and take time to try to make her feel good again. I think I also might let her stay in my room with me. Hopefully if I keep positive and give her extra attention she'll stop her wandering!

No I honestly can't thank you enough for taking the time to explain this all to me. I feel a lot better about Majesty and about my self. I don't think I can ever really explain how much you've cleared things up for me. You've explained things to me that I've wondered for years. It also means a lot that you explained your religious views and gave me a little glimpse at how you see the world.

:ponylove:

I'se headin' out the door to go to the doctor's office, but I'm so happy I could help! Chat with you more on the subject later. Hopefully I can be more articulate later.

This is exactly why items become sentimental, and why even when replaced, they aren't the same. You can see it in a lot of secondhand ponies and other toys, but more so with those that were previously owned by children, played with, carried everywhere and well-loved. They have a different feel than the ones owned exclusively by adult collectors. And toys just off the shelves are empty and don't have their own personality or memories, because nobody has loved them and breathed life into them yet. But some of them feel different to others, like they have potential the others don't, like they're asking you to take them home with you... It's also totally different when you find your own belongings that you haven't seen in years; they evoke long-forgotten memories and you get the same feelings you had when you last used them, but if you've gone through trauma or bad times, and they were involved in that transition, they carry that with them too.

I think some people can feel the memories and emotions left behind in objects more than others, who may not feel anything at all. It depends on how sentimental, open and impressionable you yourself are. I myself am extremely sentimental towards my own things, even household items like combs and toothbrushes. I hate it when a mug or glass breaks, and I will only take carry-on with me if I ever have to fly somewhere because I don't want to lose my clothes. Things that are easily replaceable, but important to me because of the memories they drew in over the time I used them. But at the same time, an item that may still have sentimental value to me can also make me feel very wrong and uncomfortable if it reminds me too much of things I've put behind me. I also feel this way about things belonging to my loved ones, and thus I get upset for them when they break or lose things, and I can't bring myself to get rid of some of my late grandmother's clothes and possessions, even though they're still taking up closet space in my bedroom.

Personal effects can become part of a person's identity, something that you strongly associate with them, and you can form emotional attachments to objects for that reason, or come to despise certain things just because of the negative correlations they have to people who've hurt you. Like when you break up with someone and have to throw out their stuff so you aren't reminded of them, or you can't be around certain things without being reminded of past abuse, or when you don't buy particular brands or types of items because someone you deeply dislike uses them and therefore you'll always think of them when using the same items. An object is not a dead thing when you give it a piece of your soul and bring it to life through your memories.

I'm a channeling median, yes a random fact about me! I've been born to be able to see and talk to spirits, my sister too. We've demonstrated to many people and the reaction is either the look of being impressed or flat out scared! We've even turned complete disbelievers into believers! And I can tell you right now, your Majesty does have a 'little' attachment, and its just that pony. I can tell you a lot more about her, but I'm not sure how you may deal with it?

However for you, don't feel like your crazy! Because your not! Believe me! Its nothing to be scared of for the case of what attached to Majesty. I can tell you, she won't hurt you! In fact, she find you quite fascinating!!!

As for the case of energy... Yes! Energy can be transferred to an item(s) but it does not have the ability to move the item in which in transferred to, there has to be something behind it in order for something to be moved. So in this case you do have a spirit...And I have to tell you this so you can understand so please if you already know this stuff please don't be offended ^^; However a lot of people believe that we "die" no we don't die, believe it or not there is no such thing as death. We just leave this realm and enter into another, the only thing that "dies" is the moral shell. The soul, which is basically you doesn't die, your immortal! The reason you aren't seen be people in this realm is because your not in there plain of existence. If your seen or felt that means your what is know as "earth bound" in other words, your stuck on this realm. I know this is because an angel told my sister and I. And I hope you understand now ^^

If you want me to tell you about the spirit let me know, and I will.

that does sound quite eerie, if it worries you, you could do a simple cleansing of the toy regardless of your religious beliefs/lack thereof , frankincense, dragon's blood or sage are good for driving nasty spirits/emotions out and protecting the area. as for not good vibes, previous owners/emotions can be imprinted to the toy as well, a toy that's been played with a lot can emit a bright, cheerful feeling, while a toy that's been in a stressful environment, can emit sad, tense or angry vibes. Its not as ludicrous as it sounds, ever go into a house where something bad is happening, such as lots of fighting, or maybe someone passed away recently? you'll automatically feel the emotions in the air and it will make you uncomfortable or switch your mood, the same happens when the house you visit is calm or lively.

Yipes~ sounds to me like a exorcism, then a proper burial may be in order~ x.x
If she appears in your house again after that, call a exorcist >.> or a priest

Either way, if I were in your shoes I'd consider contacting a paranormal expert~

@ladyofthenight , I completely agree. You do leave an imprint on the things close to you whether negative or positive. You can really tell the difference between a fresh from the package pony and one that's been with person for years. I feel the the same way about my things. Everything feels important to me because it is my own. I take care of it, treasure it, and I prefer it over new and fancier things. The familiar feeling of myself on my possessions makes them important to me. I'm sure Majesty has memories of her own from whoever owned her before I. I'm guessing they were either negative or she may feel angry because she is no longer with her previous owner.

@Spirited_WingedHorses , I find that amazing! I do agree that people don't die. The way I see it is our spirits are energy and energy can never die. We live on in the next life and may come back in a cycle. I do think whatever is attached to Majesty is energy and that's why odd things are going on with her. I'll post a picture of her a bit later so maybe you can get a better feel of her. I would love to know what you gather from her =)

@Leave a Whisper , I think a cleansing would be a wonderful idea. I often burn incense in my pony room to clear the air. I'm going to burn some sage and incense around Majesty to see if her vibes do change. I'm also trying to pay more attention to her in hopes positive energy will make negate the negative energy.

@LightningSilver-Light , I have considered asking for help from a paranormal expert before. Like I said I'm a trash scrapper so I often bring items into my home that feel off. I've even brought home negative energy that has really damaged my family. I do my best to avoid these situations but I guess at times it can't be helped. As creeped out as Majesty has made me feel I don't think it that's bad yet. The moving around is creepy but it's not like it's really messing with my fiance or myself. I think I'm going to try positive energy. If that doesn't help I wouldn't object to getting professional health.

I want to say thank you again to everyone for giving me such wonderful advice! It means so much that you all have taken the time to try to help me out ^_^

Now I feel really bad for donating some of my childhood toys:( I hope they aren't angry with me.

Good luck with everything Moondream. I think maybe you are a very good person for Majesty.

They more then likely went to new kids who gave them the love they needed! =) Aw, thank you. Hopefully I can teach this old pony to feel at home again :satisfied:

Can't wait to read this tomorrow when what's left of my brain works. LOL! I'm so glad we have such a open minded, accepting group. It makes discussions like this possible.

I've never had a single experience that I thought to attribute to anything supernatural or paranormal. Might have something to do with how my brain is structured and processes stimuli. I'm actually kind of curious what my experience of the Majesty under discussion would be. If something funny is going on, to the point that even I would notice it, it would give me some interesting things to think about. I like a good mental challenge. If at some point you still find you want to get the haunted pony out of your home, I'd be happy to take her on. :3

@Moondream I was just reading another thread, and I thought of your Majesty. I couldn't help but wonder how she is going, has she settled in yet?

Oh, I'm glad you bumped this, Slinky! i had some questions and such too!

Which will haveta wait. It's dark o'clock, but I gotta go hay the horses and ponies (or the hohos and popos as I like to call 'em)

Oh man I feel so bad! I wanted to update you all a while ago but life got in the way.

I've been keeping Majesty in our bedroom next to our bed. I've been trying to keep her close and I often have her in my lap when I'm on the computer or crafting. I've been trying to put more positive energy into her. I burned a bit of sage around her and things have majorly calmed down. The weird ash hasn't come back. She still moves a lot but she doesn't knock the over ponies over. I noticed if I don't have her close, like if I try to keep her in the pony room with the other G1s, she'll move closer to the door or I'll find her in my bedroom doorway (The pony room is right next to my bedroom.)

I'll post a picture of her later tonight.

She wants to be your Special Pony! She might make a good protector, too.

uhh I think you might have an actual ghost on your hands moondream. this isn't a negative energy toy its someone attached to the pony. maybe you can have someone knowledgeable help you to help them move onto the afterlife. :s

ETA; If your not worried about the spirit then my boyfriend suggests that you could make an alcove a sort of little shrine, you know how the Asians do to honor their loved ones who've passed? to appease her with the pony there.

I personally would just find someone like a shaman or priest to help the ghost move onto the afterlife, but you know that's just me and you have a better grasp of the situation then we do. So you do, whatever you think would be best. :)

Dont feel bad, I was just curious and I'm glad to hear that Majesty is settling in nicely. I find this topic fascinating, look forward to seeing her picture :)
