Subconsious Pony Buying

Recently I purchases G1 Parasol. I was strangely attracted to this pony and just had to have her. I showed my Mom my latest acquisition and she remembered that one, in fact it was one of her favorites (she loved the umbrellas). Turns out this pony belonged to me or my younger sister. So it turns out that my subconscious was telling me to add that pony to my collection and now I have memories from my childhood resurfacing. Memories of brushing her tail, admiring her symbol and others (all good memories of course).
So all you 80's children and Mothers; have any of you similar experiences?
 
oh totally. when i started recollecting, i wracled my brain to remember who i had. i only remmembered a gandful of them, but after digging through the laundry room and the garage in my house we've found a bunch of them that weren't sold. course, what's funny is we haven't found the 1 pony she knows she kept because she liked it :lol:

what's funny though is when i buy a radom bait lot and show it to my mom she'll go "wait a minute, i think we had this one..." when i had no intention of keeping it, but on the shelf it goes! lol.

i think i had like 20-30 ponys, and pretty muich i've recollected the ones i can remember, save for the MO mommy-i know i'll never get that unless it turns up in the garage like the baby did XD;;

but it's always fun to have the pony and go "i think i had this...sweet childhood pony!"

my one pony I remember solidly is SS shady. she was the very first one I bought on ebay when restarting my collection. I loved her pink budy and day glo green/yellow hair :)
 
Oh, definatly! I remember a lot of my childhood ponies (which are loooong gone now) but could never remember owning a G1 Minty. I found one at a second hand store and my mom saw her and said, "Oh I remember buying you that one!" I love collecting, it takes me right back to my childhood. :D
 
I'm currently young, so I'm not an 80's child or mommy.
 
Thankfully I kept all my childhood ponies... however when I collect the ones I want most are either ones I remember wanting in stores, or ones my friend's who had ponies had. For example, my first pony was cotton candy ... I was 3 at the time I believe and my "best friend" at the time had a Blossom... when I started collecting, Blossom was one of the first ponies I had to have because of those memories.
 
I also have all of my ponies from my childhood, but when I came to know ebay and thought to look for ponies there, I wanted to buy the babies because I only had one and then I started buying up all the ones that I had never seen before.
 
Yes, I have pony flashbacks. The memories seem so faint but then when holding a specific pony, they come back vividly and I remember something. Funny how the mind works. Sometimes I wish I had video of myself as a child just playing pony and the set ups I had and pony story lines I would think up. :catmoon:
 
The reason I collect is because I lost an Applejack pony 2 weeks after my 6th Birthday, and had nagged my parents for AGES for one - they weren't getting it, they bought me a Bow Tie and a Peachy or Snuzzle (can't remember!) but I HAD to have that Applejack... I was gutted when I lost her.... sniff

I also had an NSS North Star and possibly Cherries Jubilee and Butterscotch or Blossom... but really can't remember...

I definitely had the Pony Castle, but mine didn't come with Majesty, it came with Sprinkles and her duck friend, when I really wanted Majesty and Spike!!!

I think the Castle got sold years ago... I wish I'd kept it....

I remember brushing their hair and taking them in the bath with me (and now I think.... oh dear they must all have tailrust by now!!) and my brother used to steal them to put his He-Man on.

My Ponies are in my parents attic somewhere (I think)
 
There are a few I remember having, though the names are escaping me at the moment. It's so awesome to have the memories resurface!!! <3!!!
