Hi people! :cat_5:

I had some awesome luck at a small fleamarket this morning, a Show & Tell post will follow later!

One of the ponies I found is a beautiful Lemon Drop in awesome condition (YAY, I got another childhood pony back! :yippie: ), but unfortunately she has bright, orangish pink "eyeshadow", her symbols are "altered" with the same marker as well. Now, how much sun does she need to lose the marker? How long will she have to be in the sun? We don't exactly have a lot of sun here... :-(

Major thanks! And here are some pictures, please ignore the quality, the light really sucks at the moment:

Lemon drop is near impossible to sunfade. I honestly think sunfading will ruin her. If you do attempt it be sure to cover up the symbols otherwise they will probably turn blue.
Some highlighter/ marker is impossible, others it only takes a couple of months. The eye shadow won't be an issue, but the symbols might be a problem.

well to me the symbols look like a case of the symbols bleeding not nessisarily marker. i've taken off Lemondrop symbols when I use one as a bait and some still had the symbols on under the paint in the form of pink stains like that. Could it be possible that the eyeshadow is bleed too?

I agree though, sunfading that though will be near impossible. The spots where it is and how close it is to painted areas is just too close. And the paint looks wonderful (another reason I wonder if it's bleed cause marker should've ruined the paint too right?)

But that's all mu oppinion. I'm one of those people who don't mind marks or cancer on ponys if it seems to work with them. So if I had this girl I'd think she looked neat the way she was and let her be.

:reaper: Kat :reaper:

You could try to sunfade her. Maybe cut masking tape and put that over the symbol pieces?

Thanks everyone! But OMG, I had no idea that she was such a difficult pony to sunfade, that really bites. Especially because she's near mint except for the marker. :-(

ETA: I had no idea that pale purple symbols like hers could bleed in such a bright colour! o_O

pink *or yellow* highligher like that

takes MONTHS to sunfade. I have had a Princess Tiffany in my brightest sun window for over a year and the spot is barely starting to fade. Of course, I do live in OR, so there are not too many just raw sunny days.

This mark was about like yours is on the eye, but now it is still there but faded.

It has been my experience that blue or black marker/pen sun fades a lot faster.

Wow, that does fade slowly! o_O Your Tiffany looks really good though, luckily the marker isn't in her face!

I'm just now getting around to my first sunfading prospect :) I have a Bonnie Bonnets with orange marker on all her hooves, and one of the Sweet Kisses SHS ponies with pink highlighter marks. The highlighter isn't doing much, fading a little perhaps, but the orange is making quite a bit of progress in less than a week.

It's funny how some symbols bleed--just look at those Greeks! If I ever found a mint Greek Bowtie I think I'd sprout wings and fly! It does look like bleeding to me too, since the paint is so well intact. Kind of a funny scenario.

Good luck! ;)

Aww poor girl - although I really dont think it looks that bad ;)

i think its totally possible to sunfade her -I've sunfaded pink marker off quite a few ponies successfully. It does take much longer than blue or black marker but it will fade eventually. My longest to fade pony took around 8 months (but hey I live in the UK- its not like we know what sun is here :D ) Just make sure you cover those symbols and the main part of the eyes. I cut or tear up stickers to the right size/shape to cover just the right bit (eyes/blush/symbols) so that the rest of her fades evenly. Cover the hair with tin foil :) Dont give up - she'll be worth the wait:rose3:

Thanks a lot again for the replies everyone. :D I think poor Lemon Drop looks like an 80's punker this way, LOL! XD
