Target pony prices have gone up

I was in Target 2 days ago and the pony prices have gone up. They used to be $4.99 for an individual pony, but now are $5.29. They had the 25th Anniversary Core 7 with the hats and the beach accessories. I didn't pay any attention to ponyville or the dress-up sets, but I imagine those have increased as well. Looks like even ponies are feeling the economic crunch. Anyone else notice price increases in their area? (I know this is nothing compared to what some people pay in other countries, but it was still a shock to me)
 
My walmart went up from $3.88 to $4.99 I gave Madison $15 on sunday to go to targt with my mommom and the prices were still the same..
 
I was in TRU yesterday and they had a ton of ponies. Luckily, they're still $4.99 there.
 
It was bound to happen, I mean I buy plastic hangers at walmart and they used to be a $1 and now they are creeping up to a $1.50

Yup. Prices are skyrocketing around here. My Wal-Mart had the ponies marked down for a few weeks in April in May, allowing me to buy an extra with $17.00. :) Unfortunately, Wal-Mart and Kroger are the only stores around here that have ponies under $5.00. :(
 
I just noticed the increase in price today at Target. I'll have to check TRU and see if they've gone up as well... My husband pointed out that they're a petroleum product and thought that might have something to do with the price increases. But we're certainly not experts. :D

I wonder why the prices have gone up. Is it because they are getting really popular because of the supply-demand issue?
 
They probably figure since everything else is going up, that they can up their prices to make some more profit... :mad:
 
Yep, I was at Target last night too and there was one longely Pinkie left on the shelves (everything else was clearanced off). So I took her and did a price check. Came up $5.29. *sigh*
