I don’t really understand astrology but I find it interesting even if I don’t totally believe what some readings may say. Sometimes a certain talk show on TV when I wake up has some man doing readings and I feel lost when he talks about planets too but it feels like something cool to understand. Back in my second year of college a girl used to do tarot readings at the back of the class a lot. I think she was just starting out
-nods- For the time I've spent with it and what I've tried to learn, the planets thing still confuses me, too. I understand enough to have specific questions about it, but actually getting answers to those questions when I can't ask anyone directly is another thing. I know that there's essentially various metaphorical "belts" in the sky, from the planets to the zodiac constellations to the one that is
purely a construct, the houses, and the alignments of all of these things and how they interact with each other are important for astrology.
The "houses" each reign over specific areas of your life and personality. For instance, one of the houses reigns over how you treat your own things, while its opposite house reigns over how you treat
other people's things. The planets each also have these sort of "personality traits" attached to them, so when you're born, what planet was "in" what house defines these traits of your personality. Like I think one of mercury's big things is anger, so if you had mercury in your house of family, then anger may end up being a big way that you deal with your family. That's simplified, I don't know all the traits and houses, but it's an example of how these thing function.
As for specifically how it gets talked about in daily astrology as opposed to birth charts... or actually especially with birth charts in mind, that's where it kinda confuses me. They use the phrase "your house of" a lot, and all I can think is "how do you know it's MY house though?" These readings seem like they assume a lot about a person based solely on their sun sign, it confuses me greatly.
Anyway, I hope that helped, instead of making it worse. I think I understand it only just well enough to try to explain it. Either way though, mixing astrology into tarot is certainly not something all readers do. A lot of them, but not all. Some of the tarot cards do specifically refer to specific signs though, like The Moon is the Pisces card in major arcana, so it's a natural union.
I did try to find out more about what else mine may be (the air/water/earth/metal thing) but I can’t remember, I should find out. I am also in club Aquarius too. Are we all Aquarius here then?
I don’t know where Chinese zodiac signs come in to this but mine is a rabbit.
I don’t know or understand much but it is a pretty interesting thing
Metal isn't one, at least not in normal astrology. (Not really supposed to be one in tarot either but some people like changing the elements to odd things.) It should be fire, earth, air, and water, with three of each element.
And I dunno! That's pretty curious, isn't it?! I wonder if it's MLPTP in general or if it's specifically the portion of MLPTP that's interested in talking about astrology.
I think everyone's just having fun sharing theirs
:D The eastern zodiacs don't impact the western ones. They are interesting too, though! And I think we entered the year of the rabbit again just recently, didn't we?
I shall brake the Aquarius combo by being a Capricorn!
My mom has been talking about making one for a long time now.
Hahaha, nice! On both front haha, even with breaking the combo :b Besides, you never know if it's your moon or rising sign >u>
