Hello everyone. I am new here. I was at my local thrift store and I found a bunch of ponies for a good price. (I think). There are over 40 ponies in this lot. They will need to be cleaned up but I think I can handle a little hard work for the price I paid. Total cost after taxes was $66.57. Let me know how I did.

GREAT haul. Even though there's yellowing (from storage) they are fixable if you are patient. The two seaponies on the left however are rare, and quite valauble. Condition of the boxes, and staining on the ponies I'm going to guess you still could be looking at over $200 per set as is. I paid $470 for another also in Canadian packaging (who was pristine, mint in sealed box) and have bought many seaponies- so take it from me, they get pricy, even if they look less then perfect!!

I notice they're in Canadian packaging? where'd you find them (city)? :)

Wow! That's an amazing find! Congrats!

I found them in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada.

I am going to try to clean them up some. I found the tutorial posted on the site. I'm going to try cleaning them this week and see how they turn out.

:D Awesome! I've DREAMED about a seapony find like that!

The two seaponies I'd suggest just washing the hair and body under running water while holding them upside down so water doesn't collect inside and cause rust. and surface cleaning the bodies with something gentle like soap, if you use magic erasor be gentle with it. the paint on these guys isn't the most durable. Then resting them on a towel (upside down) to dry. Keep seamists hair away from her body while wet and while she's drying. it can bleed and stain easily. They'll still be yellowed, as that staining goes well into the vinyl. The other seapony, same cleaning method. Their weighted tails rust so easily! but I've always had great success cleaning them in this way.

I have a couple yellowed/brown stained sea-ponies lined up to restore this summer (going to use some kind of H2O2 method), so I cannot recommend a fix yet because I don't want to advise anything to you that could potentially damage them. But I should have a tutorial for fixing this hopefully once I'm done with my experiments this summer.

Holy cow, awesome haul! AMAZING find on the seaponies! And I believe you may have the entire set of birthflowers. (I can't see the symbols though, so that's just guessing based on hair/body colors.) That's impressive. :D

You are right. there are all 12 birthflower ponies there.

I nearly fainted when i saw this find - WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

You are sooooo lucky!!!

Very cool! Great haul! Make sure you keep that Seapony packaging! If they've never been out of the box, I'm not sure deboxing would be a good idea..

They have all been out of the box. Sea Mist and Seawinkle's packaging is missing the plastic on the front of the box.

WOW! I have to admit I am jealous. I've only ever found a pony or two at thrift stores. You are sooo soo lucky! Congrats.

If you don't want to keep the packaging you can always sell it too. ;) I'd be a potential buyer. But yes, please don't just recycle it!

If I do decide to sell, I will let you know. Not sure if *Bay is the place to sell or maybe just a private deal on the fourms.

Thank you, yes, please pm me if you decide to get rid of the packaging. :D

Both options would work, of course with a private sale there's less fees (just paypal vs. paypal, and ebay's fees). I just didn't want to see these end up in the paper bin. I've seen a few people over the years that didn't realize others would buy packaging items that they had been throwing out/recycling. ;)

Just put them on the Freebies Forum
What an amazing find! They must have belonged to a collector? So many rare ponies, and the packaging, so great! Congratulations!

OH MY GOD that is an INSANE find I need to recover! I could only dream of finding that. I live in Winnipeg...so close yet far away lol. I would buy those boxes too XD
