Unearthed my childhood collection of 88 G1 ponies

Hi, I'm new here. :)

I just opened up the big box of G1 ponies I stashed away about fifteen years ago. I never thought they'd become rare or popular. I just couldn't bear to throw them away.

Most of them are in decent condition, but they were played with a lot, so some have damage, cut hair, dirt, rubbed off cutie marks, and stains... pen marks... other stuff. I was a stupid kid. Five are in quarantine just in case. I'm only starting to learn about pony cancer, mold, plasticizer break down and such.

None of them have original boxes or accessories or anything like that--only the pony. I've started researching a little bit which ones are valuable, and I haven't really decided if I want to sell any, but if anyone feels like giving me free advice about the value of my collection or individual ponies in it, I'd be happy to hear it. I can provide more details on condition of any particular pony, too.

You have a nice bunch of ponies there! From what I see, Mimic (in the Unicorn category) is your most valuable pony. By herself in pretty good condition, she goes anywhere from $60-$100. The rest of the vintage ponies you could probably get at least $5-$10 for each one.

Editing this:

Crumpet (so-soft), Lil Tot, Tex, Quarterback, Clipper (baby), Night Glider would also go for more than $10.

Hello! Nice collection from your childhood!!!!!! Congrats!

Wow what an amazing thing to find stashed away, it must have been real fun looking through it all! Congrats xxxx

Wow...bet that was exciting! I know my collection started after purchasing my home...I found boxes of old toys in the attic. I was so excited and they weren't even mine as a child!

Also the pearlized baby--probaly worth more than $10 as well, depending on condition. I see those go for $20 ish most of the time (again, depending on condition).

Are memories flooding back? :)

Wow so exciting. Wish I could find a box like that around here. You can fix them up, clean them, maybe get some of the stains off with magic eraser and maybe even have someone fix the ones with haircuts...I know if they were my childhood ponies I would totally do this. I agree with the others...Mimic is your prize!

Rock-on! That's lots of gems! Woo! Cool!

congrats on finding them once more that is cool. I had the same feeling when we cleaned the attic and found ours some of them went with two of my sisters and i got the rest of them. Slowly i have been adding more gen one members to the herd.

Nice list of ponies to stumble on after all those years! The final price of a pony can vary depending on many things, the condition, how many people want it (I just saw a mimic in mint condition sell for around $55 on EBay but have also seen them sold for $150) if you choose to auction it, etc etc. So Soft Crumpet I would start at $30 -depending on condition. Pearlized ponies, probably $10-$15 to start.

wow that is so fun!!! how exciting! how fun it must be to go through all those memories!!! :)
