:eeek: OK, so today I was in Wal-Mart (on Long Island) and noticed there were NO MLP's AT ALL. Not even a price tag on the empty shelves where the ponies would be. A little concerned, I asked an employee in the toy department if there were any MLP's left anywhere, and he said...and I quote "No, sorry- we're all sold out. We're not getting any more in, either. We're not going to be carrying My Little Pony any more." Does anyone know if this is true? I called Wal-Mart's corporate headquarters and s/w someone named Rachel who first said: "If there are no price tags on the shelves, then most likely it has been discontinued." When I asked her to find out for certain, I was placed on hold for 10 mins, and when she came back, she said someone would call me back within the next few business days. Someone please say it ain't so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just started getting really into the FIM line and am soooooooooooo disappointed

I just stopped by kmart tonight and they didnt have any mlp either nor did i see a place for them to be :(

The Wal-Mart near me still has lots of ponies and seems to be restocking regularly. Of course, they haven't gotten anything past wave 2, but they still have most everything.

OP, I am on Long Island too, and I have mentioned before that the 3 Walmarts in my area has stopped carrying MLP for a while now. Were you in Suffolk?

Hi StarSaber :) Yes, I was at the Centereach Wal-Mart near the Smithaven Mall. This is not looking good...

Walmart isn't going to get rid of Ponies, no matter how much they may reduce its mod space. If there's anything Walmart wants to be, it's Target. And when Walmart sees how much action Target's getting through its exclusive MLP merch, Walmart's going to try its hardest to get a piece of the pie.

See, that's what *I* was thinking. Why on EARTH would they stop selling MLP when it's such a HUGE seller at Target? I certainly hope you're right...I just wonder why there are no ponies ANYWHERE in their stores in my area...

I wonder if this is what is happening at my Walmart... they were the first local shop to get ANY ponies in stock, and now they're down to a meager four items - two of Fluttershy's nursery sets, and two of Pinkie Pie and Sweetie Belle's candy shop sets. :[

I noticed that at a couple of my Walmart's too and when I asked them about it, they said it's not uncommon for different Walmarts to carry different merchandise. There are still several in the same area that do have them still so I think it just depends on each individual store...

I agree, it is stupid that ANY Walmart's wouldn't have MLP, but lets hope they don't discontinue them all together...

That's really strange. Maybe it has something to do with the state/area? Where have they been missing? New York?

In my part of WI one can find MLP merch at Walmart, KMart, and Target (I've also seen a couple of G3s in CVS). ShopKo does not carry anything.

I have 2 about equal distance from me, one carries next to no pony merch. The other has been continuously getting smaller and smaller. What used to be a good 3-4 foot section is now barely 1ft. I would imagine they're not doing as much sales as Target might be, and are competing by focusing on other toys. For instance I noticed the Monster High section got much bigger at both the stores near me.

EDIT; And what's sad, is I've had far better luck finding things at these Wal-Marts than the Targets near me.

I cant find them here either. Not even a space for them on the price tag stickers and they took down the MLP logo sign they had in the isle.

Im also on Long Island in Suffolk and both of the closest Walmarts to me (Islandia and Commack) still have ponies. It is possible they are going to stop carrying ponies though, based on what my husband said about some action figure lines he collects, if there is a store that gets an exclusive toy from a certain line Walmart will stop carrying that line until they get an exclusive toy also. Hopefully this is not the case, but if it is I have plenty of Targets and Toys R Us' near by to get ponies at.

That Walmart is the first store in Suffolk as far as I know to get ponies. I was checking every where every week for a while and thats where I found wave 1.

Everything MLP is on clearance at my Walmart... either they're getting new stuff or they're being discontinued...

One of the walmarts in my area have stopped selling them too (I'm in upstate NY). Although there are about 4 others in the area and they all still have them. I think it has to do with what is selling in that particular area. Perhaps kids in Long Island just aren't into MLP.

I was thinking that, too. Competitors having an exclusive line might be the case. Target has their exclusives, so maybe it's a competition thing. That would still be better than Wal-Mart discontinuing them altogether....

Hmmm I have noticed for a while very little pony anything in walmart so I never shop there for pony stuff. I don't care much for the store and prefer Target over it hands down. Partly because the walmart near me is dirty and not fun to be in. Its in a good area but they just don't keep it looking nice. Its the worst store ever.
I don't think Hasbro is going to want to loose Walmart sales because every company seems to think their stuff should be in Walmart. Just nutso how our business thing works. If they aren't there just go to the stores they are in..thats what I do. I have to admit though that I rarely see any new G4 stuff and just figured the line is suffering.
