Mostly ponies, they're too expensive for me and my upper spending limit most of the time with accessories. The most I may get with my pony is a pretty ribbon or a brush that came with it.

I have plenty of ribbon spools here at home, bandanas are bought for a buck for my boys. My only exceptions are that I want Princess Tiffany with her bushwoolie and either her hat or wand, but I can live without that, Wigwam with his headdress, because he looks too awesome with it and a blue repro seashell, Starlight Studio is making for adult sea ponies.

I also need 2 show stable carrying cases to put my ponies in.

I find all your needs to be very acceptable. Now all we must do is rob a bank and start fulfilling our wanton desires for Ponies. :lolpony:

I'm sort of a goalless collector. I buy what I see and can afford. I never set out to buy anything in particular.
 
Well, I am kind of a mix between two. I really am a completionist when it comes to my G1 collection. I want all my ponies to have their accessories. I don't display the accessories but I must have them in a box somewhere. I also really like all my ponies to sport vintage ribbons even though they may not have come with one. I love pony wear. I have accessories that do not have a pony and it drives me crazy when I have a pony without its accessories. Like my Rockin' Beat girls do not have their brushes.
I also collect G1 merchandise like back cards, stickers you name it even coffee mugs which are hard to come by in the USA so I have to ask my buddies over the ocean for help with that one.
I like modern G1 things also.
I like G3 ponies but don't care as much about their accessories. I do not collect g2 and do not own a single one but I use to. I like Blind Bag size G4 only and no G4 merchandise much. Although I am the proud owner of a G4 hand sanitizer set. baaaaaa
So I want it all G1 and not so much other generations. I am compulsive with my G1 accessory collection and impulsive with the bin button.

Oh yea I love those cases too. I keep all my favorite ponies in cases so I can run fast with them when the zombies show up.
 
I'm a very rare type of collector/anti-collector xD

So I must explain

Only pony things I'm serious about collecting, are G1's and custom baits.

By collecting, i mean if I happen upon them by chance and happen to have the spare cash, I swipe them.

I do not venture out seeking specific g1 ponies for my personal collection. If I end up with duplicates, I bait the faultier one

TO THE BUTCHER SHOP IT GOES

then for baits, this is where my rapid pony - buying comes in. Anything is fair game if i see fit.

I attempted to start collecting g3's right when they first came out, that got really expensive real quick so I stopped.

So I have a small collection of the fanciest/my most favorite g3's that I don't touch.
Then a trunk full of my g1 collection I never plan on selling.

Then a giant bait box

I come across collector g4's now and then, I keep those. So far I've just kept Lyra cause she's pretty, and a MOC Nurse Red Heart because she is all obvious about being an exclusive.

Then other new merchandise, go to my kids. I'll just toss ponies to my kids here and there and give them all the plushies and other toys/merchandise.

Actually most people's Ponies are from thrift stores or auctions/trades. Unless you're buying brand spanking new G4s. And your plush army was all bought new. I think... You did get a couple of mom's and I bought those new. You have a dead woman's Ponies. They could be haunted by your Mamaw!
 
My mom thought she was doing great when she went to Walgreens and bought a box of fakies thinking "yea I found her ponies." She never gave them to me and I think it because she realized I don't collect anything that doesn't say Hasbro. How she figured that out I don't know. It was good though because, the little girl of a co-worker was having a bad Christmas last year and mom gave her that with a Barbie she had and it worked all the magic Christmas is supposed to.


Most of my G3 collection is thrift store finds. Very few were bought from anyone. All my ponyvilles are from the thrift store also. I love them!!

Hey this is my awesome Fakie. The only one I own that I know of..no wait I have two others. Anyway, bet you can't guess her name???? baaaaa For obvious reasons I love her.

Or not all. First I started with ponies and said to myself "just ponies nothing else". Then pop ups some accessories and buildings and I'm like "well just few" then pops ups pony wear and petietes and on and on... so yeah gotta catch them all *singing pokemon song*.. but I catch only the ones I have afford (ofc.. daaa ;)) and the ones I like :p
 
That's an awesome fakie, tula! She's really a beautiful colour combo... So is her name "Hope" or "Potato"? Potato would be a good name for any pony.

Man, if I could have all the Ponies I could afford I'd have to send Action hank to live on an island, h1m3. I love every one I see. I only buy what I can afford though. And having to buy so much animals feed, sometimes that isn't a lot! LOL!

I'm in it for the ponies and if I end up with merchandise it's only by chance. I've never found a pony at a thrift store yet most are trade me or ebay. Mainly the victims of bad hair cuts & tail thieves. So long as they all get new hair do's they seem happy to be running free & naked :D

I don't have many double ups 3 or 4 off the top of my head. Though any bait Mirror Mirror's in NZ seem to be gathering at my place

I love Mirror Mirror, she was my most favorite Earth pony back then. I've heard the symbols eventually just bite it, so I've been hesitant to get a new one.

Im another type of collector. Im the set completer. Im very picky about that. I have to have all or nothing. So its part gotta catch em all for me as well. My regular list is finished and it still feels strange. My daughter is gonna have an awesome pony collection along with her shopkins. :D I never been super on accessories. I may want to work on some but just get a pony alone keeps me busy enough.

Oh, I meant to put set complete-ist down too! That's definitely a big thing with lotsa collectors...

Those Shopkins are so popular right now! My niece is mad for them. Are they squishy? I'm curious about them.

No they're not squishy. They're hard plastic foods and household items with faces.You can get them in little mystery baskets, you can get them in packs, in toy shopping carts and sets, they're even making erasers and plushies now. They're super cute and the playsets are really fun!

My daughter has a nice collection and three playsets. The Cool Fridge, the Shopping Mart Set and a Frying Set. The smaller set, food and household items are perfect for bigger dollhouses. She uses the fridge and the frying set as an outdoor grill so her Transformers can have bbqs and the shopping mart is where they go to restock the their supplies.

They have stuff like telephones and lamps and pots and pans and shoes with cute lil faces. They're a choking hazard for really little kids, but they're otherwise sturdy and nicely detailed.
 
Thanks for the info, LaW! I was curious about them because my little Junie (niece) is just mental for them and is wanting them for Christmas. I was curious if they had that Squinkies squish or what. Hard plastic sounds better to me becaus eI think it would last longer.
