What would you love to implement in a pony generation?

make actual natural colored pony merchandise

g4 has some "horsey" colored ponies, but you cant buy them lol - i think g5 may have a few too, like gray ones

Feathering on the hooves!!! One of the best things about G2 and G5 imo. It always looks so adorable :D

Also, I'm not entirely sure how well it'd translate into toys, but unicorns with those classic lion-type tails and little billy goat beards!!
I feel like those kind of tail would be prone to breaking during play, but they would look pretty

Winged Dragon, the conversation is about what the individual would like to see for toys or show or both. Not strictly the show. If you want to pretend you don't understand that I'm talking about the toys, I'm sorry, but that's not my problem. I explained my reasons in plain, simple words. If you don't like it, then w agree to disagree.
Just agree to disagree. It is no problem, but I am saying this; you say "No one like that/Children don't like that/This community don't like that" then you claimed it was me misunderstanding that you were talking about your individual opinion.
My first post is asking you why do you hate core cast and how would you make a TV series without it. You didn't answer, you just tell me you hate it.
It's nothing if you hate of some marketing format. At the end it is just some conversation.

I have been thinking about the main topic. Do people really dislike action figure this much, or is it because the worse quality plastic and non-brush-able mane?
Growing up, I have this one articulate pegasus from Barbie and The Magic of Pegasus. The plastic was a little worse that 2002-lish ponies, but much better than current G5 and the mane and tail is brush-able.

She is one of my favourite toy too. I think it is neat that her legs can move so she is either standing, or doing a leaping pose, and her wing can flap a little.

I would prefer this kind of toy over, say, Lily Lighty.

Also, we never have anything like Baby Good Morning Sunshine for a long, long time now. In fact, we don't have a lot of robot pet toys any more. I would love to combine that with Fur Real Friend's Butterscotch. A giant, semi robotic pony, big enough for an 8 years old.

The Playmobil lions have a tail like this and it really breaks easily :(

I don't think the plastic quality matters much. It just shouldn't break.
Poseable figures have to stay in the pose you put them. If the joints are too loose, the toy is no fun.
Lily Lighty had too much fabric. She's nice to look at, but you can't really play with her.

You know, everyone likes to hate on the inconsistencies and general nonexistent worldbuilding in the generations before G4 (lookin at u g2 and g3) but I personally LOVE the G3 universe and would use something similar! If anyone's familiar with the "pink void" in 2000s Disney Princess merchandise, I like to think of G3 the same way. Random magic portal in the waterfall, or those butterflies that just show up sometimes, or the way that, to my knowledge, all of the G3 ponies are girls, with no babies and no guys?? (unless you count spike and Santa)* They just... exist? I think its kind of hilarious. I love that kind of ludicrous, nonsense type of vibe. Nothing is explained. Time doesn't exist. Who even knows whats going on lol

For designs I LOVE how a lot of artists redrew the main 6 from MLPFIM into completely different races of ponies!! Like fluttershy being a breezie and rarity a crystal pony and such. I think I would make a small core cast where everyone is different.
But I wouldn't include humans! I hate humans in a pony universe lol I think it makes a weird dynamic. I think they should just exist on their own.

I also agree that a 80s fantasy aesthetic would do WONDERS for the overall look! Don't get me wrong I love G4 as well, but G3 and G1 had this fantasy, almost acid-trip rainbow vibe, you know? It always looked dreamy in every scene.

So yeah if I was in charge of things it would be very art-based, heavy on design instead of explaining the world or the history. Not that I want to make it void of meaning, but I wouldn't try and scrounge up a lesson for every 20 minutes of content. Probably stick to movies, or long episodes honestly.
*(I would include more than just girl ponies, to be clear)

I love the idea of an artsy style again. I think the backcard illustrations for G1 are gorgeous and if there was a way to create a similar dreamy aesthetic in a traditional cartoon format, it might work.

Looking back, G3 was really trying to be modernized G1 after G2 wasn't doing so well. But it lost so much magic because of the early 2000's Christian moms mentality.
I think a Very Minty Christmas still has some of that high fantasy adventure element, with Minty almost dying in a hot-air balloon crash and all.

I would appreciate an articulated My Little Pony! I know G4 had some articulated action figure-esque toys. The joints weren't obtrusive at all, and they were ball joints too (correct me if I'm wrong), for maximum motion. I have the Cheese Sandwich one, and he is a great fidget toy with a lot of articulation in the head, tail, arms, legs, and elbows.

As for robotic toys, G4's My Magical Princess Twilight Sparkle put me off pony robots a bit. She looks sort of pained? They weren't my cup of tea as a kid, since they were harder to play with alongside smaller toys, but you gotta admit that Sing and Dance Pinkie Pie is pretty darn cute!

I'd love a community designed pony once a year or so! With monster high currently every year collectors can vote on parts of a doll's design so the end result is chosen by the community (it's still heavily led by the designers and the options are limited but it's still cool). Would be fun to vote on a pony's design once a year

That's an awesome idea! G3 ponies had something like this with different artists/designers and I think opening the design process up to MLP fans would be so fun! Give us a blank G1 MLP and let us go to town for the 40th anniversary?

That sounds so fun, or a set with a fan chosen pony from each generation!
