Wheres the next Australian fair to be held?

As the name suggest there is now disscussion over the next city to hold the fair for 2010. There has been a few suggestions and redsetgogirl has come up with a 5 year plan which is a great idea as it gives people and indication of where and when the next fair will be if you aren't able to make it to the one in 2010.

There is talk about what order the fairs should take place in and as of yet nothing is set in stone, i'll be posting here and over in the other forums in regards to doing a poll to see which is the next city to hold the fair. Please note that previous city's that have already held the fair are not able to partipate until all states have had a turn.

Ok there is discussion on the ponyfair forum as to putting together a team to look after the fairs in the next couple of years. This will give us an oppurtunity to approach Hasbro with the same people each year in a hope that they will join us as they do in the U.S and the U.K

The people who have already put their hands up to participate is myself, ponymad and redsetgogirl. If you are thinking of giving it a go please get in touch with any of us mentioned above and hopefully we can put together a team in the near future. We need people who are able to set up the actual fair when it is in their host city and there is a number of other jobs that would need to be done that don't need to be done by the ppl hosting the fair.

After Adelaide (cos I'm lazy and don't want to travel) Melbourne would be my next pick - cheapest flights and shortest flight time for me

It'd have to be Adelaide for me. And I guess after that either Perth or Melbourne - I would like to go see Phar Lap again.

good question silvershadow i guess we should put a limit on it, maybe to the end of october???? i remember seeing phar lap, i do have a funny story about that bit a little to rude for the forum and embarassing for me too hehehehehhe

I chose Melbourne (of course) but we would happily go to Adelaide or Perth - as long as the fair is not held during the school holidays (like this years).

That's a very good point eringlitter plus i think plane fairs are more expensive in the school holidays aren't they?

i missed this year cos i couldnt afford to go to canberra.

BUT melbourne is very easy for me.

I'd like to also put my hand up to help when/if the fair comes to perth ^-^

Yep Melbourne down here too though Adelaide would also be okay.....Either way I hope it's not the same weekend as the Obedience Nationals again! Then again if it is we could have it at the state dog park then I could nip over between classes. :hysterical:

ok the poll will end on the 31st oct......oh thats halloween hehehehe hopefully we shall enough help from members to hold it in the winning state, however if thats not the case it will have to revert to the next state with available members to organise the fair...

lol @ ponymad, we're in the same boat! When I lived too far from the city, it was there, but now I live 15 mins away from the venue, and there's at least 6 years before it's back there again! Grr...
