Option 2: Equestia's Past
(Ponies) A prequel called My Little Pony Equestrian's Past (or something).. staring Princess Celestia and Luna, them growing up together, finding out happened to their parents, discovering the elements, facing Discord, possibly Sombra, etc. the troubles they overcame together and how they grew to power. And ending with Celestia banishing Nightmare Moon into the Moon, leading right up to the pilot of Friendship is Magic.

Thanks Angel I think so too! I know that would do SO MUCH BETTER money wise! Hasbro would make Millions on that movie, several people I have talked to and read comments about say they won;t even purchase a ticket for Equestrain Girls, rather watch for free online, even if they made Equestria's Past and it came up for free online I would gladly pay for several tickets and see it two or three times in theaters! As well as purchase the movie itself!

I don't know...would little girls be interested in an adventure film? And what could they sell of that? Equestria Girls can make dolls and outfits, at least.

ETA to explain better:

Hasbro is still stuck in the mindset of "girls like pink and boys like adventure." Everything Hasbro does is to sell more toys. A more "brony-centric" movie that focuses on the past wouldn't move much merch.

They could make young Celestia/Luna toys, but that's about it. Hasbro isn't going to make Castle Greyskull-esque playsets or toys for the good guys to fight the bad guys.

They vast majority of people watching FiM is children. The vast majority of people buying the toys are children's parents. Movies are expensive. They cut season 3 in half to make EqG! And it's only 1 hour 12 minutes, not even 3.5 episodes long.

Hasbro exists to make money. If they don't make money on an IP, they'll cancel it outright. If having EqG means that we keep having pony, then so be it.

Honestly, I don't care about Equestria Girls, and assumed other people would be smart enough to dismiss it, go like "oh, so that's coming out? Meh, fine" instead of ruminating on it and acting like it's the worst thing Hasbro has ever done.

If anything, not realizing that Jem could actually stand up to Barbie by using music videos as an excuse for whatever setup you'd want in the doll/fashion line (princesses, mermaids, fairies, you name it) was a stupider move, because it literally killed the franchise right there.
Little off-topic, but hopefully you can see what I mean, in that it's not that big a deal in the grand scheme of things.

BESIDES, again, not that I care, but the only thing we have so far are pictures. Not good enough to make bold assessments, the way I see it.


By the way, Brony Galore, and I mean this in a completely non-sarcastic way:

How about actually trying to write a script for said movie you propose? I know that wouldn't be an easy task, but I'm pretty sure there'd be people in the brony community who'd be totally behind your idea and perfectly willing to help you along the way. As long as you didn't have "BLARGH REVENGE AGAINST EKUEARSTRIER GURLZ" in your mind while doing it, I think it'd actually be a pretty fun project!

I agree with PrincessLio. BronyGalore, I get that you don't like EqG. Tons of people don't like EqG, but they don't seem to be as vocal about it as you.

Just don't buy the toys and don't see the movie. It's not going to affect FiM in any way, we've been told it. It's more of a "one-shot" that's not really in-canon, like the He-Man Christmas Special (or Star Wars Christmas Special, for that matter).

If you have ideas for something else, why not create it? It can be a fan animation, spoken drama, comic, fan fic, ****, you could even do a stop-motion animation with figures you have. I'm sure you can find people to work with you on this (and you can always write something on your own).

Hasbro isn't going to stop EqG or change it. It's been made for probably a year now. The merch should be coming out this summer, from what I understand.

Take your energy and distaste for EqG and do something constructive with it.

I say you complain all you want about it. I think people forget how much the community in general complained about the core 7, and G3.5's. If you are against it, shout it out. I really hate the EG's concept too. Just because something is inevitable doesn't mean you shouldn't voice your opposition to it.
