Who are the "Oldie Moldies"?

I remember one particular contest I hosted... LOL Back then people didn't really have much in the way of personas. We had our usernames - but they were generally actual pony names. Mine was Prairie Lily though, which wasn't a pony name and I felt left out of the fun. LMAO So I held a contest for people to come up with a pony version of my username. I think there were seven or eight entries. The one that won was not my favourite... but it's the one the judges settled on. So I sucked it up. Her symbol was a piece of wheat, and she was the colour of buckwheat. LOL All I could think, any time I saw her, was (from Flight of Dragons) "Trust Antiquity"... but my version was "Trust the Fandom". Clearly when I came back online a couple years ago I came up with my own version of Prairie Lily that actually suits me. :hugegrin:

So there's my story from WAY back when. Late nineties I believe.
 
I grew up with the original G1's. I had a fairly sizable collection when I was little. But I only found this site about 2 years ago.

Ok here's a story. I won a contest on here once. You had to make a bonnet for your pony. One catagory was for a food themed bonnet. I put cookie crisp on my bonnet and a little baking pan and such things. I was awarded the most scrumptious bonnet award. One day I walked in my bedroom and found the bonnet on the floor ripped to pieces! My Dog ate it!!

The end. (ok I know that wasnt a story about the site sorry)

I don't post as much here as I used to back when I first joined here, but.... let's see... my profile says 2005. On the Arena, 2004.

But I know I started recollecting ponies seriously back, I think, in 2001, when I started making friends in the pony community through the fur fandom ( pays to have friends in the fur fandom! ) and art school, even though I didn't even know about the pony community itself. eBay was also my saving grace for my early recollecting! Then I started making good use of the Classifieds and sales threads on both the TP and the Arena, and life was good!

I hope to become a bit more active now! The TP and Arena were my first introductions to the pony community, and they are both where I will ALWAYS set my slippers and call home, though I may play with and visit some of the new places brought about by the new fandom.
