Why do you collect? What's your goal?

My goal.
one day, mabye is the whole US set, but as for now I target a select number of set's and accessories and MOC/MIB/MIP and playsets.

Current Goals:
#1 Polish off a set of mint 84 Sea Ponies with all accessories and boxes.

#2 Get as many 1983, 1984, 1985 and 1986 MOC/MIB ponies and playsets as I possibly can.

#3 Collect all the MLP Puffy stickers.

#4 Finish off these sets Mint with accessories
-SS ponies
-Flutter Ponies (Both sets)
-Summer and Windy Wing Ponies
-Princess Ponies (both sets)
-Twinkle Eye Ponies (both sets)
-Baby Sea Ponies (84 set, pretty n pearly, Sea Sparkle and Watercolor)

#5 Slumber party gift pack NRFB (I bought a NRFB party gift pack already and I just love it!)

#6 Finding pristine mint upgrades for any pony! Go mintyness and factory curl!

My goal is to just have as many complete sets as I can,... and get all of the babies out there.

Right now I really want to get fleecy and wooly!!
 
Goal!

Heh, my goal is one of every pony ever made MOC and one loose. Oh and every MLP related thing ever made (clothes, puzzles books etc) ^_~ Hey, at least I'll have something to look forawrd to for the rest of my life! No end in sight for me ^_^

Well, I collect because I love ponies and I love collecting toys because it's an outlet to the imagination and is more interactive then collecting glass, lol.

My current collection goals:

G1's - Get all the ones I had as a kid again

G3's - Get them all before I'm fifty (I'm 23 now :p)
 
I have never really thought about it :lol: I enjoy completing sets though. I am not fussed with all those weird far off country varients or anything. I just like collecting ponies so I will keep on truckin' :p
 
I think I'm trying to reclaim my childhood, and that's why I collect. Thus, one of my goals is trying to collect the ponies I remember having as a child.

My (unattainable) goal is getting all the US ponies and mail orders. For now the minor goals are:

1. Get ponies I had as a child
2. Get all TAF baby ponies
3. Get all TE ponies
4. Get all TAF ponies
5. Get family ponies (Apple Delight, etc.)
 
My goal is to get my favorites and all collectors pose ponies (nirvanas too), all Peachy, Snuzzle and Sunlight variants. Good luck to me! :p
 
Well, I only have one small goal at the moment...to get all the UK family ponies MOC. At the moment, I'm missing all the Dad's, Baby Sunbright and Mummy Berrytown. (I would trade half my collection and more for even one fo these beauties!!)

Ooh and I really want the G1 radio I keep seeing, but can never get!!

So yeah, that's it really. I'm sure I could easily add more in the future though!
 
To get a really nice display of ponies, and keep them treasured so I can leave them to my kids.

I like complete sets though, especially the early released US G1's
 
I never really thought about it. I've had Ponies since I was born, so it's something I've always known. Maybe I'm trying to retain a bit of my childhood. I don't know.

My current goals:
1) Get caught up with the G3s I've missed. There are a few.
2) Complete the first set of TAFs. I just won Love Melody in an auction as part of the MLP Raffle, so now I just need Sweet Tooth.
3) Complete the first set of animal friends. I only need Kingsley.
4) I'd like to have a Mimic, but it's not an obsession. I can't afford her right now, anyway.
5) Get a better, minty Megan to go with my minty Sundance.
6) Get The Pony Project Ponies. I don't have either.
 
Right now, to get every G3 pegasus, and every G1 Windywing. I have all but one G3 peg so far and all 6 Summerwings & 2 Windywings. :3
 
I wish I could have them all :cry: I tried to pick a rare but more reasonable group of ponies to start collecting first, like the Wingers. Then I started trying to get the holiday ones, things that had odd similarities like that. That way when I get to the common ones, I'll feel better about how cheap they are! :lol:
 
Right now my goal is the North American set and I have about 20 more to go :D And after that I will focus on all the rest but only good deals LOL

I have also been meaning to bring this up for a long time now, and I don't want to come off as sounding rude or upset or however else you think I am coming off as, anyways why does everyone always say the US collection and not the North American collection? Most of the G1's were also sold here in Canada except for a handful of mail orders.
 
*grin* My goal is to get so many ponies that my non-MLP friends will drop their jaws and - preferrably- goan.

No, honestly, my goal is to get as many as possible, in good shapes, and as many of their accessories, complete playsets and misc MLP merchandise as possible. And as many MOC's and MIB's as I can. And why I collect- well, love for ponies for one. And i quess kind of an obsession I can't seem to shrug off.

My major goal is to have ALL the G1's, plushes, puzzles, lunchboxes, etc.

My current minor goal is to complete my roughly-250 US/Canadian (SEE??? :p ) wishlist. My current obsession is completing the US/Can babies in Baby Moondancer's pose, with accessories, except ribbons. I have all but Baby Lucky Leaf & TAF Baby Sweet Stuff (IIRC that's her name, I can't think right now). I also need about a dozen accessories including Baby Leafy. I'm broke for the month, tho. I have someone I'll probably buy Baby Lucky Leaf from here shortly (tomorrow) but otherwise...I have a huge x-mas gift I'm giving to a friend.
 
My goal right now is to get the whole US set. I only have about 50 though. In the end, I want to try and get one of every pony made. I know, BIG goal!
