G1 Will I ever find Mimic out in the wild?

Wondering how hard she is to "find" out in the wild, i.e. thrift stores and such, since I'll never be able to afford her myself. Should I just give up trying to find her? Is she actually rare or just highly coveted? I live on the east coast of Canada for reference.
 
These days it’s pretty hard to find any ponies out in the wild. Not impossible (ex. People do get lucky and it depends on where you live) but I highly doubt that a Mimic is just floating around out there without someone realizing what she’s worth. Personally I go thrifting all the time and I have never found any non-G4 pony “in the wild” besides in specifically curated antique malls and vintage toy shops. I don’t think Mimic is inherently more rare than similar ponies but she’s highly coveted as a sort of status symbol, and also just a pony many people really like, so she gets snatched up quickly.
Overall, I think with finding ponies “in the wild” already being tough and non-collectors becoming more aware of the prices collectors will pay, finding her for a reasonable price in person or online would be an insane stroke of luck.
So… don’t give up, but you’ve created a legendary quest for yourself pony friend!
 
Believe it or not, I found a Mimic while thrifting but that was more than ten years ago now. As said above, finding ponies or pony merch in the wild that isn't the most recent versions has gotten pretty rare. I've noticed a significant drop in finding the older pony items just in the last four years. So, while I don't say it's impossible that will ever find one... I think the odds are getting much longer.
 
I found Mimic for super cheap at Facebook marketplace a year ago. Don’t give up!
 
Will you? No. Can you? Yes, if you are lucky. There are no guarantees of finding even the most common G1s out in the wild. Some people have had phenomenal finds. Most people have mixed luck.

I find mostly G3s and G4s. I've only ever seen 2 G1s, Cotton Candy and Snuzzle.

With Mimic's prices already sky high, your best bet is putting up a thread stating that you want to buy her.

Its a very slim chance but never say never!! Ive surprisingly found many G1s thrifting in the past 6 years after maybe 16 years of nothing. Youve gatta constantly look and remember to enjoy it. Dont be discouraged if you dont find anything, you will one day!! Even if its not Mimic
 
I agree with @blueming you have created a legendary quest for yourself. Don't give up. It's harder to find G1s in the wild now, but I've had random luck finding G1s at thrift stores. You might get lucky one day, wishing all the pony luck in the world.
 
Yeah I wouldnt give up either. There is a chance to find them in the wild. I was very fortunate with my finds back then (in the wild of alberta.) Im forever greatful.
