Ok, so everyone complains about hasbro's quality control on ponies. I thought about it some, and then realized that when you look at the packaging, you do get a lot for your 5 bucks (I know that's US pricing). So.....for the same money, would you rather:

A: Have hasbro scrap all the extras you get with a pony (speaking strictly singles). No animal friend, no saddle or other accessory. Maybe not even a comb. But, all of the effort hasbro uses to produce these items went into the ponies themselves, and they were a higher quality pony. No marks or color mismatches. No glue stains or eye/symbol rubs. Perhaps even more accurate to the show details.

-or-

B: Keep things the way they are. You are willing to accept flaws. But you also get your cute little pets and accessories.

I kinda like the companions. It almost seems like more work is done in making those than much else, as far as new and different designs go. On the other hand, it's not like there aren't tons of other sources for random plastic animals. With that in mind, and considering that I've never had any interest in the other accessories anyway, I'd take better ponies with no extras.

Ditch the friends. I never understood why they came with a random animal in the first place.

I'd vote 'A' except I would hope that it still came with a comb.
Really though, whats the point of having a show based on promoting a product when the product doesn't match the show? The animators come up with such interesting colors and designs, its a shame that most of them end up being in the background and never on a toy.

Holy crap. A better quality product? You mean Twilight Sparkles head will match her body?! 'A' all the way.
I trash the accessories anyways.

I'd love for them to be bigger, there so so small.... Quality over quantity for me.... I don't get the pony friends.... I'd understand if they were just with fluttershy.... Meh oh well

I like accesssories, provided every pony has a different one.
since they are kids toys, i dont expect perfection

I think I would like quality, but since they're marketed to kids, it would really stink not to get your new pony toy with a cute little companion and brush!

A all the way! (rhyme intended. 8))I have enough plastic combs and I typically toss the saddles and pets to the side anyways...( Flitterheart's pig is staring me down from on top of my printer right now.)The only animal friend I mildly cared for was the dog that came with Applejack, and thats only because it looked like the dog she has in the show, Winona, but somewhere between here and my mom-in-laws house, i lost her.Honestly, if no cheap extra junk was tossed in and the Ponies themselves were better quality and looked more like the ones in the show, I would be pleased. I Am, after all, buying a pony, not a plastic animal. If i wanted to buy plastic animals, i'd get into Littlest Pet Shop.:declare: What Hasbro should do, is fire all the incompetent people they have working for them right now, and hire new people who actually know what they are supposed to be doing and care about thier jobs.:declare:

A. Seriously, I'd pay double the msrp if it meant getting a pony with actual quality behind it.

wow. you mean we could get a true white princess celestia? it would be boring getting the same accessories over and over just to customize the ponies. A, please.

LOL I just started a thread about quality. Yes I would love it if they would ditch the animal friends and combs as neither one are so important and they are over used. At least with G1 each line got a different comb and that made the combs more appealing to me. With the ponies now they all get the same styles just different colors. So, ditch the combs, ditch the friends and make our ponies better! Please ditch the scooters, bikes or rolly toys that come with these ponies and the crazy helmets...get rid of poorly made clothing, ditch the fancy boxes idea that is not necessary.

LOL I have watched my nieces throw all that stuff on the floor and never pick it up again. The pony they play with, the playsets, accessories and animal friends are a total bust and end up in the garage sale every summer. They don't care a thing about brushes either. They tend to use their own hair brush. Now that I think about it, when I was a kid I never used the brushes that came with any of my dolls or toys. I think some kids wouldn't care about that stuff. I do agree though that it is put in the package as a marketing tool to make the pony more appealing..but when it comes down to it..they don't keep up with the stuff. The only acception I have seen is one child I worked with adored her G3 styling pony and used every barrette and hair item it came with..only kid that did.

I wish that the came with the RIGHT animal... like rarity came with opal, so on and so forth, I don't like that some of them dont match... like I assume they made owlicious just to make up for the fact that the twilight toy came with an owl (even though they look nothing alike)

other wise they should scrap the pals, and just do combs and a better job on the pony.
