I had such a great Halloween (maybe even the best) and I was wondering how did the Holiday go for everyone else?
My day was so jammed packed! I'm making 15 pounds of fudge for a church sale that starts at 7AM tomorrow. My fiance and I carved a Pumpkin to look like my favorite Pokemon, Gengar. He finally got to use his dremel so he was thrilled! We had a nice lunch on the porch (It was 75 degrees in FL today) and then we got ready to go over to my Grandma's church.
Every year they do this 'trunk or treat'. All the church members get together and decorate the church and their trunks for the kiddos. They also had a bounce house, a face painter, and some performers. I also smelled horses so I'm sure there was a pony somewhere nearby. Anyways everyone sits by their trunk and when the kids walk around we show them our decorations and give them candy. It's like a safer version of trick or treating. It was a ton of fun!
Like I said on another board: the best part of the night was when this little Iron Man come up to my trunk. He was so nervous he didn't even say trick or treat. I started gushing about how radical his costume was. I told him he was my favorite superhero and I thought it was so neat that he pretty much led the avengers. I'll tell you that little boy's face lit right up! He was just beaming. He started talking to me all about his costume and told me to have a good Halloween. His mom thanked me and said I was the first person to talk to him. I later watched him start yelling trick or treat and he totally came out of his shell.
Then when the sun started to go down my fiance and I drove home to give candy to our trick or treaters. (We only live 3 minutes from the church) We sat outside in our driveway and talked with our neighbor across the street. He's such a great guy! He gave us tons of extra candy to hand out when we ran out. He even gave us an extra pumpkin to carve. We sat on the ground carving pumpkins, playing Pokemon, we complimented all the kids and teens for their awesome costume, and handed out candy.
Sorry for going on and on! Halloween is my favorite Holiday and this one was so great! I couldn't have asked for a better Holiday
Oh and if anyone is curious: Gengar Pumpkin!!
The other one we did was a Jack Skellington.
