I'm just spoiled. My dog won't touch a pony. He'll look and sniff, but he's a pup prince about only chewing on his own toys. With my parents, they never would have let me leave a toy where the pets could get it. My sister's the only one who purposely damaged toys. Can't keep an eye on your pets 24/7
I'm okay with rust, but mold/mildew whatever is a different story. I've got a very sensitive nose so the two times I ever had to clean out a mildewy/moldy pony, uh well...yeah. Lets just say I almost made an offering to the porcelain god.
Rust can cause a nasty smell in some ponies, too. And, I know it's not a "flaw" per se, but I really HATE cigarette smoke-smelling ponies. I'm in the middle of de-smokifying a lot. It takes a lot of time and patience.
Yeah, cigarette smoke smell might be a winner. Though I heard of cat pee pony and the munchy filled with *********. For the smoke I just put them in a sealed bag with a bath bomb and dryer sheets, then let them sit for a few months.
