Any gamers in here?

The controller wasn’t bad when compared to the n64 controller. Controllers have changed so much over the years. Atari was like an arcade with the joystick. NES was small and simple with hard corners. Original PC games before we had a mouse were fun, I got good at the directional pad. My favorite controllers and overall console has to be the switch. The option for using a single joycon is awesome for my 5 year old nephew and his little hands. I usually use a pro controller so my hands won’t cramp. Oh! I forgot to list the Nintendo cube! I got it just for Zelda. So glad that Nintendo went back to cartridges.
Fun fact every controller with the exception of the n64, and the switch, was developed and manufactured in house by Nintendo.

They outsourced on n64, and switch, and can you guess which Nintendo controllers have a history of failure in the joysticks?
Just saying lol

Yeah, the left joycon drift was awful! Luckily there’s a fix for it now. ;) I love that Nintendo used apple to make the switch.

I can't believe they were able to wright an update that automatically adjusts to each individual joycons drift using a mathematical calculation that tells it to drift slightly the other way to null the drift that is already there!
It's not perfect but it works!

hey @my little pony collector which Dreamcast game was your favorite? Mine was grandia 2. Somehow that one has always stuck with me.
Oh that’s true I guess n64’s is kinda awkward too, but I got used to it cause the original pokemon snap was in that and it’s one of my favorite games :) the switch is pretty good cause I really liked the motion part of the wii so it was cool they kept that, and yes the GameCube easily had the best controllers. Which zelda game did you get it for?

Oh, I stopped getting notifications and this took off in the meantime! I'm glad to see it! ^^

Mario, Zelda, final fantasy…. right now I’m addicting to Minecraft dungeons.
Ohh, I've seen a bit of Dungeons. It looks fairly neat, but I haven't got it haha.

I would never consider myself a gamer but I do enjoy playing certain games sometimes. Like Pokémon snap(all the Pokémon games really, but I often don’t end up finishing them), Zelda Skyward Sword, smash brothers, Mario kart, and this one really old game called Zombies ate my neighbors. I play some games on my phone too but none right now. Oh and Wii Sports! That used to be fun, my brother and i competed to see who was best in tennis and baseball, but our wii stopped working years ago. My brothers are both big online gamers though and play a bunch of fps type games
Sounds like a retro/nintendo gamer to me hehe. competitive online FPS games have definitely taken off, but thankfully those are not the only options.

I used to play WoW back in the day for several years.
I moved from there to Lord of the Rings Online. I was always more interested in role-play (and solo exploration) on these platforms than game-play. It went further in LotRO, where I got into music, and was in some very successful on-line in-game bands. (LotRO had a system where you could write sheet music for multiple parts, then program them so that they could be played to an audience by a group of avatars - it added a wonderful new element to the RP!) I got to play in Weatherstock three times, and my band won first prize once.

Before that I liked puzzle games like Myst, and those phone/tablet games where you build a garden that gives you harvests on timers. Zombies vs. Plants occupied me one year. I currently only play Minecraft. But I have to watch out, because games and puzzles gobble up my time all too readily.

Switch -- I haven't made the transition to this platform yet. I have Discord though. I'm currently in a DnD game there.
Oh, that's really cool! I started to get really into Elsword, but my laptop at the time had heat management issues and kept shutting down when I tried to run it. To be honest it kinda breaks my heart that I didn't get to keep playing, I was fairly early to the game and now I've missed its growth over all these years. It was really fun at the time.

To be fair I'm not sure even my computer now could really handle it too awfully well either. My CPU's constantly at 100% with Minecraft, and that's with Optifine and in windowed mode.

Ahhhh, I'm kinda jelly of the D&D game haha. I've been trying to join one with my Love Nikki group for like a year, the DM unfortunately keeps having life things get in the way. I've still not gotten to play my first game. I've thought about jurry rigging a basic version of the game and starting one myself in the meantime, but I'm not sure I have the energy for that.

I used to do a lot of console games but not as much now days as I like to be in the same room as other people so I do computer gaming of phone games if I do it at all.

Most of my console games are PS1, PS2, X-Box 360, NES, and PS3, combined I have well over 100 games. The ones I liked the most are OG Spyro, Fallout 3 & New Vegas, Half-Life 2, Black, Left 4 Dead 1&2, Deadrising, and probably quite a few others.
OG Spyro is awesome haha, I've got the first three games but I have to say, the third one, Ripto's Rage, is definitely my favorite. The level design is just top notch. I love that they made the reignited trilogy as well, it looks fantastic! My one gripe is that I think they really messed up the day/night dogs by giving them normal teeth.

In that vein I'd actually have to add Neopets: The Darket Faerie. It's really, really poorly made but I love it, it's got a hint of an open world vibe going on and the gameplay is jank but fun. I actually think Minecraft could stand to learn from its battle system.

I don’t know if it counts, but E’s been getting into all the old board games and card games, plus some fun new card games.
Hehehe, I'd say it counts! Board and card games are a ton of fun.

I'm a hard core gamer coming from a family of hard core gamers.

My favorite genre of video games are jpg's (Japanese role playing games) but I'm willing to play anything that doesn't have jump scares in it!

My favorite game of all time is runefactory 4 and I'm absolutely obsessed with the rune factory series as a whole

I consider myself a portable gamer, It seems like I just can't keep my save files safe on group consoles!

Other games I enjoy include,
Fortnite (feel free to add me! my gamer tag is MintyMochiBunny)
Final fantasy series (my favorite is ff13 lighting is just so cool! <3 )
All Atelier games (though I've yet to play more than the one on psp lol)
The tails of series (I really love the opining for the 3ds port of the abyss game!)
Persona 4 (awesome series! I've only played personaQ 1 on 3ds so far )
Pokemon (My favorites are alpha sapphire, and purl)
Little big planet (played the psp port to death! )
I've been really wanting to play the danganronpa series.
(I generally prefer to play game's in group's, by series.)
I also enjoy farming Sims like stardew valley
Some other amazing games I love are,
ni no kuni wrath of the white witch, (It's on my backlog pile)
Tokyo mirage sessions (I was obsessed with getting as many trophies in the first play through as possible!)
And so many many more!

for mobile I play the dress up game love Nikki, every night before bed for almost 5 years now lol
Ohhh, I didn't mention it in mine but Tales of the Abyss is a big one for me as well! I didn't mention it though because Luke is just about the only thing I like about it, I find a lot of the other characters quite grating but I say this after having beaten the 30+ hour game like three or four times, with a similar count for anime marathons. But Luke will probably end up as a figure on my shelf one day. Tear is the only other character I kinda like, but she's just got one flaw that does her in for me.

I actually have ff13 as well and still have yet to play it.

Oh, and Love Nikki too haha, I just mentioned that a moment ago. I play Shining Nikki as well. ^^ I'm actually a guild admin in both, owning one and helping in another. xD

I’ve been gaming through it all! Back when we still had arcades, we had an Atari, and a 386 PC with so many fun games. Then I’ve also played several games on nes, snes, n64, PlayStation, Dreamcast, ps2, Xbox, wii, ps3, oh game boy (original, pocket, color, and 3-d), degas game gear, saga genesis, and now we have the switch and 2ds. My mother has been playing WOW with my brother nightly since it came out. I played Diablo and Diablo 2 of the newer oc games, but I haven’t been able to afford a gaming computer. Ever. Not high on my list.
That's quite the background! My platform history consists of PC, Sega Genisis, Gameboy Color, PS1, PS2, X-Box 360, 3DS, 3DS XL, Wii U (with only Shantae, it had awful latency so I abandoned it), and more PC, roughly in order.

That's hilarious, I knew about the issues with it but I didn't know that factoid.

I can't believe they were able to wright an update that automatically adjusts to each individual joycons drift using a mathematical calculation that tells it to drift slightly the other way to null the drift that is already there!
It's not perfect but it works!
As I understand it that's actually completely standard. I've heard from big tech fans that all joysticks will inevitably drift, so it's always up to the software to account for it.

Twilight princess.

I only recently managed to get a hold of the fist one, and of the two I had as a kid Ripto's Rage is the one I couldn't win because I could never get passed the triceratops and I only recently managed to beat that thing.

Have you played the reignited thing because I was wondering how it compared to the originals.

Haha, yeah, things like that can get a lot easier once you have more experience with and understanding of game mechanics.

I have not, but I have seen other major Spyro fans play it and it seems to be on point! It's very much the game we know and love, but with updated graphics. Certain minor things are different, like Spyro's power up appearance, but the devs have explained that this is because the original looked the way it did due to graphical restrictions of the time.

....Doesn't mean I don't miss that amazing, vivid dark red Spyro turned when he got the lava resistance power up though.

There are plenty of playthroughs available online, I definitely recommend checking them out if you're unsure. If you're okay with Achievement Hunter, Jeremy played the entire series.

gaming is a big hobby of mine! only console i still own atm is nintendo switch but i've played lots of different systems from a young age including PC, mobile, and console as old as NES ^^ right now i'm interested in retro games, so i'm currently playing link to the past and earthbound beginnings!

my favorite nintendo series are animal crossing, super mario, pokemon, kirby, and mother/earthbound - obviously i love JRPGs! :lolpony:

EDIT: you might be able to guess my favorite pokemon: XD

Nice, I haven’t actually played that one but used to watch my brother play it and Wind Waker all the time
Majora’s mask and windwaker were awesome games. I would love to play windwaker again. I have ocarina of time and Majora’s mask on the 2ds. (It’s the newer one that plays all the 3ds games. I really didn’t like the 3ds, so I was super happy they came out with the new 2ds.)

Recently I've been super into forager! For those who don't know forager is a indie game where you forage and upgrade to unlock new islands. There's quite a few puzzles for cool prizes and I have been playing it every day before bed!

I was hyperfixsated on stardew valley for a while till I got to 90% perfection on my solo save file. Now I feel like I'm at a stand still just trying to earn money for the last 10%. I'm thinking about trying speedruns, been watching alot of videos on em.

I'm a huge Minecraft nerd, I have wall stickers, stuffed animals, books, figures, Legos, all kinds of Minecraft stuff. I have the game on every device I own, but mostly play on the switch.

My favorite type of game has gotta be cutesy open world with mild story like slime rancher, animal crossing, or astronomer! (which I play casually!) Id like to think I'd like visual novel video games. I am a fan of DDLC and DDADDS but I've never really played them myself.

I enjoy watching YouTubers or friends play games like FNAF, Undertale, inscription, and random horror games aswell as all the games I have allreaty listed.

Dude, what if..... We had an MLPTP Minecraft server?

Gonna say, I actually own Slime Rancher as well. It's one of the ones I've actually intended to try out, I'm sure I'd enjoy it, I just.... haven't yet. It even works on Linux so I have no excuse, other than just it takes me a really long time to actually play new (to me) games.

I've never heard of Astronomer, it sounds from the name like it might be interesting!

My daughter might join everyone in their minecraft endeavors. I’m strictly dungeons. I have failed to master using two joysticks at the same time. There’s any number of other things I can do where one hand is doing something completely different, but not my thumbs on the joysticks, lol. My girl pokes fun at me for it. Now I understand how my own mom felt trying to jump in Mario party. She didn’t understand the need to press the direction while jumping. :3

Don't worry about the dual thumb sticks I've always had difficulty processing the quick camera movement's for the longest time.
surprisingly playing Fortnite helps this for some reason, like I'm building up my hand eye coordination or something, I still can't see someone coming over, or down a hill, even though I'm pointing right at them!

Oh yeah, I consider myself a gamer. I love video games. :lolpony: I have ever since I was young... and I'm old enough that the first systems I played on (didn't own; others had) were the Atari 2600 and the Commodore 64. The first console I ever owned myself was either the original NES, or the Atari 130XE computer (both were about the same time, so I can't remember which technically came first. .... That was also a looooong time ago (lol) ).

I'm definitely a Nintendo girl; I have a NES, SNES, Wii-U and Switch, and a game boy Advance, DS, and 3DS, too. I also have a PS1, PS2 and PS3 (though I don't have many games for it). I am thinking about getting a PS5 at some point.

Growing up I loved JRPGs, especially the SNES-era ones (Final Fantasy 6, Chrono Trigger, and Secret of Mana are STILL among my top favourite games, ever), and I still have a fondness for them, even if I can't seem to find the time to sit down for a long, focussed play. My "migration" from Nintendo to Sony came as I followed the RPGs from one console to the other, and then back. :lolpony: I like a bunch of other games, too, like Animal Crossing and many of the Mario and Zelda titles.

I guess that's at least two for bedrock then, personally speaking since I'm running a Linux computer I can only play on Java, which is computer-only, and the two are not compatible between each other.

That's really cute haha

For some reason now I want to actually play Animal Crossing. Some others have already expressed being really into the game as well. I'm really not, but I have both Wild World and New Leaf. I find AC games really draining, but also strangely tempting, they're just on the edge of something I could really enjoy because of the customization. You just kinda hit a wall at some point where you have to really grind to get the right clothing and housing items (and be able to pay for them), so since that's all I care about the game stops being fun at that point.

I've also never actually played a Zelda game. ouo  I'm sure I'd enjoy the heck out of them though haha

From everything I've seen, the Play Station keeps getting a smaller and smaller selection of games to actually play on it with each generation. Any particular games you're considering on it?
