My husband and I are currently in Seattle (to watch the Mariner's series against the Houston Astros) and my father in law took us out to dinner to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary which was last week. We went to 13 Coins and I highly recommend it to anyone in the Seattle area. It was A-maze-zing! :ponylove:

My husband had the Monte Cristo sandwich which was super yummy. I had Crab Shrimp Cheddar Melt and the English muffins were literally SWIMMING in cheddar sauce. OMGoodness!

This is apparently Sean Connery's favorite Seattle restaurant/bar, and I have to say he has good taste! (Personally, I think that Sean Connery himself is tasty... but that's another topic altogether.... :winkpony: )

Anyone else have a great food experience recently? Please share!

Sounds like you're having a bang up time! YAYS! And HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

If I was a better stalker I wouldn't be late saying it.

omg that sounds great! :) congratulations on your anniversary and hope you're having so much fun in seattle! (or "had" if you're back before you see this)

what you said about the cheesy english muffins reminded me immediately of my favorite local pizza place... they have garlic knots that they serve covered in tons of cheese with TONS of garlic butter. it's so good, i could even eat tbem as i type this at 7 AM! LOL

Happy anniversary! So, you didn't get to see Sean Connery, huh? rats!

Happy 10th anniversary CJ, sounds like you have had a wonderful time :)

Happy Anniversary!! We also have enjoyed 12 Coins (Same location!!)

and next time you happen to pass through I recommend Ray's Dining Car and Bar in Snoqualmie.
we happened upon it one night wanting to stay in town for dinner. We were going to go to the Italian place and before we stopped in, I wanted to check out the Thrift Shop (who knows what ponies it might hold?) and along the way we saw a new place...Rays Dining Car and Bar. We checked out the menu, it looked delicious so we changed our plans from Italian to American Comfort Food. I tried the Chicken and Dumplin's (no "g") and I am in loooooove. I had it again last night. Delicious salad (no iceberg lettuce here!) with feta and carrots, cucumber and cut cherry tomatoes, and a most scrumptious home-made ranch dressing. a-ma-zing.
We went back the next night and at least 2 more times that week. it is now our favorite place to go out and have had several orders "to go" as well.
I have tried foods other than just the chicken and dumplins, but that one is still my favorite by far.

We will have to check it out. Anothergreat placewe went while in Seattle is Pig Iron BBQ. We have wanted to go there before this trip but never managed to. They make their own cola (Pig Iron Cola) which is how we found out there is a sit down eatery. Very good BBQ, though not the best I've had. (There is a place in Albuquerque, NM that is to die for BBQ. Powdrells.) I recommend Pig Iron if you're is a BBQ mood in Seattle.
