I just got a few molds to try this out. These are my first attempts. Not perfect, but it was fun.

Does anyone else do this? I would love to chat about it o.o

Ohh that bookmark is so pretty! I’ve played around with resin and molds some :) is it epoxi or uv?

Epoxy, but I just read an article about how bad it is for the environment, so I think I might dump my brand new hobby. :/
Which stinks, cause I really enjoyed it.
I have some more research to do now.

What do you use?

E has done a few… still prefers the pottery wheel.

I started out with epoxy resin and I worked really well and was fun! But I read something about the fumes being really bad for the environment but uv is supposed to be better so I got some of that to try, not as much luck with that kind. I think my lamp is too weak. If I can find if I’ll take a pic of the comb I made using uv in a mold

I dabble with epoxy and UV resins and mold making. I have mostly used it for customs, restorations and making repro FTB stands/accessories. These are all old pictures of my “prototype” stands and comb, they’ve since much improved. ;)

How do the combs perform? Does the resin have enough give to prevent brittleness? I had been wondering about this myself. Imagine all the colours and stuff you could do! :D

Here’s that comb I mentioned :) it looks pretty but it’s a little too bendy to be very useful and idk if you can tell from the pics but the teeth came out of the mold all sharp on the edges. I sanded them a little so they look nice at least

Oh I forgot! I also made these 2 pendants with uv resin and tiny real flowers :)

That's pretty neat! I don't work with resin but my roommate has been doing a lot of experimenting with it lately, making little sculpted toys and models. If you like I can put you two in touch if you have discord.

Aw, it looks so cool though! I love resin with sparklies in it!
Thank you! :D
I thought it was a cool way to use the little mermaid confetti I have a handful of. Maybe I’ll try it again with the other type of resin

My niece did resin for a while. She made bookmarks, mini little sculptures, coasters, trinket boxes and such.

I thought about trying it to make some MLP resin/molds. Then I thought about the costs, and then i found out it's not the greatest for the environment.

That brush is beautiful! Nice job with it!
