In my early collecting days, I recall the pictures and maybe there was a vote that collectors did to pick the 50 most beautiful ponies. They were really beautiful photos taken and they were ranked 1-50. I was just thinking about this other day and couldn't find anything. Anyone remember this or have anything saved?

Oh man there goes my 'I WISH I SAVED EVERYTHING FROM THE OLD PONY INTERWEBS!!!" wanting to hoard information  and then from there my mind goes 'Is there anything left to save?!" xD My brain is a scary thing.

Ugh I miss that site and the customs contest and the website contest...and then his Ponyville Livejournal comic  his artwork was amazing!

Painful Nostalgia running thru my mind right now :surprisepony:

Thanks guys, I'll check it out!!! I also remember looking at the pictures in I think 1997? They were really nice photos and I wonder if I saved them on my old computer?! We should have something like that again too :)

Too bad he doesn't post here anymore :(

When I click around on Wayback, the pictures load for me. Are they not showing for you at the link I posted? There's a full set from the 1997 contest, it just takes some navigation to find, but I think that's from the design of the original site had it behind a bunch of text pages you had to go through first.

Is the link not working for anyone else?

SO the white part at the top where it says "43 captures" and then has sections with black bars is a calendar, and the bar represents how much data the grabbed and saved from the site at each date. You can slide forward and backwards in time by moving across it, the yellow shows which version of the site you're looking at. The black section is where it shows what teh site looked like.

On the site itself, the whole 50 finalists don't seem to load for me, I only checked a couple, and I think it may have broken on that particular date that I linked to, but I did look all the way through them on an older version. But on this one, all the finalists can be seen by clicking on the red "F" hexagram on the left. The screenshot I grabbed was from the "5" hexagram, which details the process of whittling the Finalists down to a top 5.
