I just finished this one! I'm excited to present Powder! (I <3 snow ponies!) She was commissioned by Wystearya.

I dyed her red stripe to get a better match. I thought about using caddy red but I thought this would look nicer.

I know I said I'd never use metallic embroidery floss again but she really wanted it so I tried. It worked good for this pony since her symbols weren't too complicated. But I'll probably never use it again. I need something else to use for glittery symbols.

Whatcha think? :D

P.S. I just posted my first two plushies, Cotton Candy & Seashell for sale on Ebay. Click the banner in my sig if you'd like to bid. Starting at only .99 cents :D

Awsome job as usual! The end effect of the metallic thread is always worth the aggrivation, she looks beautiful!

thank you! :D It does look nice but is quite a pain. I'm thinking about trying sulky thread, the kind used for tinsel. Not sure how that will work.

Which type of thread are you using?
DMC, Krykin (sp?) and Guterman, depending on the type are pretty good to work with.
Krykin has the best assortment of colours and thicknesses. They have from very fine to a thin "rope" and some of them fray alot less then most metallic threads.

Oh, she's beautiful! I have a thing for plushies and I like yours even better than Hasbro's!

I'm using DMC because it is the only one I can get. Are the others better?

She's really cute!!!

You should def. try Kreinik, I checked the spelling. They have a web site and I'm pretty sure it explains the different types of thread. "very fine braid" is wonderful, it doesn't kink and fray like a lot of others. You can get it at most craft stores (near the DMC stuff, it comes on a spool), usually in basic colours. For better variety try a store that specializes in needlecrafts.

Do you do commissions? I would love a plushie of my persona...

awww

she is really cute
I want to get my and my husbands personas done as plushies someday

there is also another pony that i designed that i would like to get made into a plush pony but he would be really hard to do

*squeal* :D *hugs and kisses Powder* I love her! her face is so cute. And the symbols turned out great! I'm so glad you were able to use the metallic floss, even though I know it is a pain in the rear. I can't wait to hg her for real! :D

Thanks So Much!

Flutta pony drawn by me~~!

Thank you so much for the compliments everyone!! I love to hear all the nice things you have to say about my plushies! :D

A few people asked about commissions, yes I take them! :D You can see my current price list on my website: http://www.babyseashimmer.com/plushies.html. I will be changing my prices before I take on anymore comissions though. These are a ton of work and I just don't feel that $40 balances it out for me. So after I finish the 2 that I have going now, I'm going to rethink my prices. I'm really sorry about that but I have to.

Alright, I'll have to look for it. Do you know if they have it at Michaels or Joanns? Those are the only craft stores I really know of around here. I'm wondering if they do have it and I just overlooked it. I will have to look for it next time I go. Thanks for telling me about it! The DMC stuff is not my friend

I'm so thrilled that you like her so much! I put her in the mail yesterday so you should receve her very soon :)

Hey, I know they have it @ Micheal's (at least they do in Canada) I am pretty sure I have seen it at Jo ann's as well.
It comes on a black spool and is probably on a small yellow (i think) backcard w/ a clear rectangular plactic "bubble". They are usually right by the DMC metallic tread section, hanging on the wall.
If you would like pm me and I will send you pictures.
