Finished MMD, in her new home:

Previously: I have been working on a pony for a work friend. She used to manage the department I am in but has moved to a different segment of the company. We will keep in touch and she was always interested in my pony news. So I am making her a pony, based on an old Majesty, because let’s face it, they are nearly always beyond repair.

Still need to root the mane of course. But her flocking and cutie mark came out great, and I just know she will be lovely when I’m done.

Update: I never did figure out how to take MPP apart to do a custom. I have the yarn hair I want for her ready to go and I know what color I want her to be, but just…never began. Someday.
Coming soon to this space: Flippmaster, the Tokens Arcade MPP

Years ago, I made a few custom ponies. Some were gifts and are not in my possession to be able to take pictures of. Later today if things are not busy at work, I'll go pull those images from my livejournal just to share them. But below for now are the two I just made for myself, one from a Majesty whose cutie mark had rusted, and one from a G3 named Daisy Jo. She had completely cut hair, but the body was in good shape so she didn't need painted. I am no artist, so I did their cutie marks and eyes in swarovski crystals.

This one I made as a gift for my cousin, with whom I collected ponies growing up. She was based on Apple Jack, and I called her Paddy Gladden. (I am very Irish, but my red-headed cousin is even MORE Irish. Lol!) I am still amused that I did her photoshoot in front of my waterfall screensaver on my computer at the time.

Here is a much more recent custom my daughter and I did. She doesn’t collect ponies, as she prefers the real thing - or at least Breyers that look like the real thing. But she does seem to enjoy this baby pony with a hummingbird cutie mark. I don’t think we ever named her.

And I did recently become interested in flocking ponies. I tried to do a Firefly for my first attempt but didn’t do it quite right. A second try yielded better results.

I've also flocked a few baby Fireflies now, and a Bowtie!

:flutter2: Mykono is so pretty!! I love the black and purple hair combo, you don’t get dark colors like that often in ponys. And I like that you gave her a little gem in her eye like a g2, plus the little matching one on her hoof.
How did Whisper turn out?

@AzaleaArt I haven’t made a single strand of progress on Whisper. Lol! She is still taking up a place at my dining room table waiting for my life to slow down.

I am FINALLY making some progress on this real-horse-hair memorial pony. *phew* Glue in the head is drying. Tail is curling overnight after boil perm....

The Whisper custom is so sweet!! Your other customs are very nice, too. I love Paddy Gladden.

@starscout thanks! She was one of my favorites. Looking back I probably should have restored her instead, though. All these years later and I STILL don’t have an Apple Jack. Lol!

They’re all so beautiful. I love the gems! The memorial pony is looking great. :purpleheart:

Thanks! The tail curled so nicely overnight and I put the head back on today. Couldn’t resist getting another Mohawk pic before I did the mane.

Whisper is complete. Horse hair doesn’t lay very flat but I did the best I could. It’s better than the Mohawk for sure!!

Oh no! Thats so cute!!

I think the mane makes it more life like. So adorable!!

Great customs! You have been busy! that flocking on Firefly turned out so nice too!

@Twinkle-eye, @peaches2217, @OctoberMoon, & @Locket - thanks all for your kind words. I have so many bait ponies. And I have some dollyhair I bought ages ago floating around this house somewhere....I should do a few more customs. They are fun - and even relaxing when I don't have a real deadline. Lol!

Working on a new custom and thought I’d share a picture (in the post) for anyone interested. She is almost done. Only the hardest part remains….

Whaa! This is so cool, have you ended up flocking any others? I'm a big fan of the so-soft ponies but its such a shame they're in such bad condition... My So-Soft buttons has most of her flocking but its so patchy and ugly I'd love to replace it someday

@otteroflore I have done a few others. Firefly is my favorite, so I have flocked a Firefly and a baby Firefly. I also did a Bowtie on commission. There are pictures somewhere. I’ll try to find them to share. :)
