I read on here once that someone called their baby Moondancer-Moondreamer (which sounds much cuter IMHO)
I think I called all my ponies by their real names as a kid (although I remember thinking the name Princess Dawn went with Princess Moondust. I wanted her so badly) although I recently got the G3 Green "Free Baby". I think Ice Blossom is a good name for her. Her colors remind me of Ice Crystal, and so do the little sparkles on her symbol....and then...flowers...so hey, it works! :D And whether or not its her real name, I like the name Belly for the Macau Bluebell. Belly sounds like some odd Indian name. And its a funny name for anything other than a body part. So she now no longer knows Bluebell, she knows Belly as her name.
And then there's the SDCC pony as 'Bobie Zombie'-lol
Did you/do you change your ponies' names?

re:

Moondreamer was my baby, lol! My cousin and I had different names for all of our ponies when we were kids, and a lot of them are names I still call them now out of habit. Like Baby Bouncy was Volleyball, Princess Brush N' Grow Brilliant Bloom was Princess Flower...the twins (the ones I can remember) were Alphabet and ABC, Birdie and Tweeter, and Beach and Sandcastle. Man, there were so many...the ONLY pony (out of about 100 of hers and 50 of mine) that kept its real name was SS Wind Whistler, lol. :)

Loads of my gen2 have different names... Queen Sun Sparkle is Regina, Lady Light Heart is Regala, Silver Swirl is Stelline...

I have more but I don't want to spoil anything if anyone is reading my story ;)

Well, the Pearlized Baby Moondancer is called Baby Moondreamer if the collectorguides on the internet are right.

But yes I did gave my ponies other names when I was a kid. I didn't even know what their names was in the first place. I didn't really bother to read the box. And when I was 4-5 years old I didn't understood english anyway =P

They were usually names after what their symbol looked like. And in Swedish offcourse. Like my Baby Explorer was Baby Lufballong (Baby Hotair-balloon) and so on. Talk about lack of imagination for a child  *lol*

My friend had called Tiddlywinks Bibsy, and I am sure there were more but I can't remember.
Oh wait umm TE Sweetstuff was Gumdrop, Cuddles was Rattles, Ember with star was Starlit and I think thats it. :D

Haha, oh wow, really? :) That's so funny, I never knew that! I was always trying to come up with creative names, and "Moondream" was a fictional character I'd written about once (sadly, yes, I've been writing stories since I was about 4, lol!), and seemed to fit Moondancer so perfectly that it stuck. Guess it wasn't as creative as I originally thought. :p

I used real names like jessica for the SHS and what not...idk, lol, otherwise I would use the real names, unless I didn't like them

OH i had LOTS of names, it's funny though the ones i thought i came up with all on my own, were actually what they were suposed to be. (some of them)

Quackers was Ducky
Steamer either went by Steamer (to his wife) or "Sir tracks" to everyone else.
Princess Pristina (queen of my heard) was Princess Diamond or mommy buzzer.
Bright eyes either went by bright eyes or clocker
Locket went by locket or keyer
Sugarberry was Strawberry
Mirror Mirror was magic message LOL
WindWhistler usualy kept her name but sometimes got called Zippy lol

that's about it for names oh except i gave one of the SHS's a real name she got called Sasha.

i called my pony bride belle cuz i thought she was so beautiful! besides, it was a pain in the butt calling her pony bride all the time... belle sounded so much better. ^_^

also, i always called milky way galaxy for some reason, even though i knew her name was milky way. sometimes i still get mixed up & call her that!

my sister called sky flier kites! i used to get so mad at her!

My Sugarberry was Strawberry too! And Sweet Tooth was Lollipops. And my Flutterbye was Butterfly.

Well, I don't remember calling my Ponies by any other names as a child. Myself, ever the perfectionist, I think I made sure my parents told me what the Pony's name was (before I could read it myself) before throwing away the packaging so that I could call her by the correct name. Sadly, until Hasbro gave G3 Baby Flower Flash (green baby) her name, I was calling her Baby Booger. And Baby Romperooni was something like, Baby Lily, I think.

Hi there,

Well - I think baby Keen Been should be named baby Jilly Bean. :D That's what I called her. Also, I have the original Firefly, so when I got the Movie Version I renamed her "Midnight Strike" - her storyline is that she has some sort of evil side to her heart that she just can't escape... :p Lol, sometimes I get a little carried away with my ponies lol.

Nope!! I just can't do it. It's like changing the name of the characters on Final Fantasy. I did that once and went online to read some walkthroughs and I couldn't figure out who they were talking about!! Won't do that again.

I can't remember all of them, but I called my TE Skyrocket Fireworks, and my friend called SS Scrumptious Watermelons, Daddy Bright Boquet Happy Heart, and Happy Tails Tabby Kathy.

When I was a kid, I didn't know most of the real names. I think I only used 2 or 3 real names, but some of them had nicknames that ended up pretty close to the real thing.

Baby Sandcastles = Sandy
Princess Misty = Queenie
BnG Ringlets = Princess
SW Buzzer = Bee
Sugarberry = Strawberry
Fifi = Bows
Big Brother Wigwam = Jeffrey

I think my name for Wigwam is the funniest... I think it must have just been a boy's name I happened to like.

Steamer either went by Steamer (to his wife) or "Sir tracks" to everyone else.
Princess Pristina (queen of my heard) was Princess Diamond or mommy buzzer
lol AWWWWW!! Those are soo cute. Sounds like something I would have done when I was a kid. My ponies had normal stories behind them, but my Grand Champions had husbands and wives and herd leaders etc :)

For years my Sunshine was called Cloudy as i didn't know her real name, but even when I found out her real name I still call her Cloudy. She doesn't seem to suit anything else.

I've only renamed some of my G3's.

Dainty Daisy = Daisy Days, his real name, or, more commonly, Mr. Daisy. He's married to Island Delight. o_O
Keen Bean = something else, can't remember...
Dibble Dabble *barfs* = uh, something Italian or something... it's a translation for Dabble... I can't spell it...

And, in my world, each of the G1 & G2 male ponies have many brothers, all nearly identical to them, and they have slightly different names.

And Steamer is married to Moondancer!!!! Rar! But, not all of his brothers are married....... hrm...

Oh, and I rename all my variants, like my Princess Pristina variant is called Princess Pristie. :D

Princess Tiffany - Sabrina

I was good about the other names. No idea why. I like Tiffany better anyways now.
