Have you ever named one of your pets after a my little pony character?
if so I loved hear about and see the little cuties <3

here are babies named after ponies

here is Comet, I'm not sure he counts but the secrets of starlight special came out with a pony named Comet and I love that character so now I say it counts ;)

there both super clumsy it was definitely fate!!


I'm thinking the next reptile I inevitably get will be named Izzy, but its not a guarantee I tend too choose the name when I meet them I have to get to know them before I name them
 
Do cars count? lol

we have a Lord Sombra named with King Sombra in mind
 
My rescued kitty is named Twinkles! After the MLP g1 Twinkles the cat :twohearts: They have the same really round features!! ps: cameo from my girl Romero who is named after a horror tv show lol the duality of names:rofl::rofl:
Poor Twinkles showed up as a seriously injured stray at my house, hes came a long way and is very happy <3

Growing up I wanted to name my bird Whirly after my favorite pony. Mom said I had to pick a more mature name, not name it after a pony. So I settled on Kokomo.

Now I never thought about naming my pets after ponies lol. My two cats are named after artists

No.

I have 2 cats, but I did not name them.

My mother adopted them in 2016 to be her companions. She kept the names they came with, King Lear and Donovan. When she passed away last year, I brought them into my home.

We have a cat. Her name is Ruby Apple after Ruby from Super 4 and Applejack. My son was really into FIM and Applejack is favorite. PXL_20231129_225013258.jpg
 
Funny story: when I played Nintendogs as a kid, I was in the midst of a big spike in my MLP fixation and named all the virtual puppies after ponies. However, I found it hard to focus on actually training the dogs and just wanted to unlock and adopt as many breeds as possible. When I hit the limit on how many dogs I could have, I had to return Sundace (had to fit the character limit) to the shelter... and cried for, like, half an hour... and then felt so overwhelmed with guilt that instead of adopting a new breed I just got a dog that looked identical to Sundace the First, named her Sundace, and acted like nothing happened.
 
Love seeing all your pets! The animal love of my life was an Abyssinian named Riven (Rivendell). She carried the pony nicknames of Lickety and Bubbles. I miss her so much!!!

Rivendell is gorgeous. I'm sorry for your loss. I love Abyssinians and my family used to breed them for many years, as far back as the early 70's and they came from famous champion lines or so I've been told. When I look at Abbys today is fun to think that they might be very distant relatives of any that we've had. I only really knew one though, Razzleberry, who was kept as the runt of the litter after my mother retired. She was very sweet and drooled when she was happy.

I wouldn't say that mlp Clover was 100% the reasoning, though. It was more like, my cat has green eyes like a clover and there's also a subtle irony in naming a black cat after something lucky. And when I realized there is a pony named Clover that settled it!

Clover is gorge! I love the subtle irony and I love black cats and dogs! The name Clover also reminds me of Watership Down, which I love!

I don't know what part of the country you're in but supposedly Riven was born in Utah (or somewhere thereabouts). She was a gift to me and was proof that sometimes the best things come from not great situations/circumstances.
 
Currently I don’t have pets named after Mlp, but I did have a rat named Trixie after the g4 pony a few years back :3 Passed on now (rats only live so long), but she was sweet. I’ve had over ten rats in my life lol, I’d like to get more someday.
