Eeep! Twinkle Eyed disaster! Help!

Hi there,

OMG! Okay. Here's what happened:

I was a damp cloth with water on it and water only. My Mimic (a great condition one at that) had a little surface dirt on her, so I decided to give her an ever-so-gentle wipe down.

So I'm cleaning her off, when I brush it a little bit over her wondeful TE....

And it wiped the iridescent finish almost all the way off! Well, in the middle part of her eye anyway.

What in Ponyland did I do wrong? It was just water, and water it was! Was that supposed to happen?

I'm not absolutely completely upset though, because it was only the center of her eye and I love my Mimic whether she has scratched eyes or not. I just want to know what happened!

are you sure that the irradecence is gone? It's not just wet still? that's the only thing I could think of...

Yeah, I'm sure. Because I did it a few days ago. But I was on vacation so I didn't get to post here sooner.

Does it look like their could be a film over the irridecence? Like maybe a little soap or conditioner over her eye? Maybe try rubbing with a clean, soft cloth and see if that helps?

Hmm... well, I guess the moral of this situation is: Be very careful when cleaning your Twinkle Eyes!

My poor, poor Mimic... *pets the poor pony gently*
