G2 Fav G2 character?

Not favorites, but I do like Miss Painter, Clever Clover, Petal Blossom, and Gardener.
 
silver glow. i love when grayscale things have a bright accent color. and i love wings, so that's a bonus.
 
I really love the core / game characters! Ivy and Light Heart are probably my most favourite, but I love all the main 5!

Also Twinkle Star, especially the actual pony with her long hair and curly bangs!
 
My favourite g2 pony has to be Cupcake! Her design is pretty basic but I just really like her idk :satisfied:
 
I played the Friendship garden game, so all ponies in it have a special place in my heart. Light Heart is my favourite. She is G2 Sunny Daze

Darkly has one on hold for me in her doubles thread!

This is absolutely one of my fave sets. I have a soft spot for Light Heart anway but the perfectly matching baby and the cute little accessories. Perfection. 10/10.

Spring is super pretty! Mint and pink is one of my favourite combos ever - Spring, Ivy, Minty - give me them allllll

Copper Glow, Princess Crystal, Springly, Apple Pie, Baby Swirly, Baby Sweet Snowflake, Muse...all of them.
 
I adore the Christmas baby and hope to have her and her accessories someday. The babies, in general, are adorable. I'm also partial to Light Heart. Probably because she reminds me of G3 Sunny Daze. I was very against G2 when it debuted, but it's grown on me. So I never knew a whole lot about G2 and learned about most of them well after G3 debuted.
 
I wonder what happened to G2. It is very pretty and oh, I love, love the fatasy cottagecore/farmcore horse girl theme it has. It was, maybe, too ahead of its time. The Cottagecore before Taylor Swift.

I think it wasn’t very popular in the US despite being very popular in Europe. Hasbro ended it in the US after only two years. I think partly it didn’t stand a chance because it was the first reboot if MLP and the originals were such a phenomenon. Now everyone expects a new look every decade and mostly change is received positively among MLP fans.

Also their designs may have been ahead of their time in some ways. G2’s design harks back to vintage toys, art and babywear especially from the 1940’s - 1960’s. In the 90s this was becoming popular in Japan with the rise of Lolita fashion, but it’s only really become popular in Western culture recently

I don’t think the 90s were as into cutesy kitsch as we are now
