This is a long shot but does anyone happen to have any sort of external digital copies of all of the different printable media from the old G2 Friendship Gardens game?

I had the game when I was a kid and it's responsible for like 100% of the time I experience nostalgia haha.

I forgot that Friendship Gardens had any printables. I probably didn’t print any to remember but that game was great!

I think there is a way to redownload it again without a disc? Probably a place like Old Games Download or something like that although I’ve never done that myself because I don’t have my computer anymore and lost my copy

I hope you’re able to find some soon!

You can, in fact I just got another copy recently as a gift haha. I've been a little afraid to try it though tbh.

I have found like two places in the past to download it, and to be extra safe I actually have it downloaded multiple times x,D However, those are a bit finicky/corrupt. On top of the general problems with trying to play the game, the printables screens in particular tend to either be a visually garbled mess you can't do anything with (Morning Glory's whiteboard) or crash the game (Light Heart's puzzles, I don't remember if the misc books on the floor crash it too).

I actually had some of the same issues with my original copy of the disc as well, so I've seen like one person get it to work properly again... I have a small theory that they might have used a virtual machine, but even that would be an experiment on my part.

Hi! Sorry for being like a year late but i’m cataloguing all the digital content from the game through screenshots as unfortunately the assets can’t be ripped straight from the disk, I have tonnes of screenshots including most of the printables from the school board where you create the images. About to start on the printables from Light Heart’s cottage.

I’m working with the original game on a laptop from 2005 which I refurbed just to play this one game lol so they’re the best quality and resolution I can make them

Oh my gosh, PLEASE share those with me! Every time I've tried to get the game to work again the images have all been corrupt. Are you including screenshots of all of the little decoration bits available on the whiteboard as well, like the individual border pieces? If need be I can even use my art abilities to try and create higher-resolution versions of your screenshots c: At least of some of them! That would be a ton of stuff haha.
 
Oh man, hah, yeah I guess vectorizing them would be a good way to do it. I'm not particularly familiar with them myself, I know how to use them for lines and that's about it. No idea how to color or texture, if you can, or how to share the vector information itself unless you share the original layered file... and I'm guessing whoever's opening it uses an art program with the same file format.
 
Yes basically if I make them into vectors they can be resized to be used on anything, rather than being limited to the original resolution. I’m still learning but it’s fun
 
Yeah, that much I am aware of~ But like I said I've not learned anything about adding colors and textures to vectors. Given how much texture there is in some of the game's assets that sort of thing would become really relevant really quick.

I've also never personally had any luck with trying to open someone else's vectors. They'll advertise things as vectors and by the time I open it it's just a flat image without vector information. I haven't been sure if I've been missing something, if they're doing something wrong, or if it's just incompatibilities between art programs. I don't use anything adobe, I use Krita, and in the past I used Gimp. Even if they post this stuff as a .psd, stuff tends to get messed up in the conversation to other art programs' file formats.
 
It probably would, but my mind was mostly going down that direction in consideration for a collaborative effort, which seems unlikely. o: In the end I would personally most appreciate the screenshots themselves, as opposed to the final vectors or their pngs, so I can take a crack at them myself. c:

She got back to me a little while ago and we've had a little bit of back and forth.... Moonbreeze managed to get the game working enough (using an old version of Windows) to get some really good screenshots! She said she's still working on adding things, but there's quite a bit of the printable media there already!

Dragging up an old thread because my adhd meant I totally forgot about getting those screenshots BUT Kim over at Lavender Lagoon has updated her page on the game with screenshots galore of all the assets so she's done it for me haha
