G2 leg joints

Hi! Currently in the process of taking apart a G2 light heart, and I want to know if anybody has experience taking off the legs to access the tail. Specifically, this is the type of pony where both back legs swivel.

Can I just heat her up and try to pop out the legs? Or will that end up breaking the joint? I looked around on the preservation project website but didn't see anything about these ladies so I'm unsure.

I've not taken one of these G2s apart but I will have a look later at mine and see if I can tell how easy it would be to pop apart and reattach!
